Default What are your thoughts...

So about 3 mths ago Dean switched daycares from this crap place with convenient location and low rates but shy non-talkative teachers to this Baptist Church up the road who has daycare and been in business for 31 years.

He adjusted well. However, he still cries everyday I drop him off. I will never understand and there is nothing I can do. Everyday for 2 years now in some daycare or another, he cries for about 5 min they say, wimpers, etc.. So Im over it, I watch through a window and watch him stop as soon as he gets distracted by another kid or a toy.

However, my stupid MIL has been annoying me saying "I dont like his teacher, she just wants to hug him, she is too much, etc" But all of the teachers here are 60+, easily. Old ladies who are clearly retired and/or have been there FOREVER. It is a SMALL CHURCH (we dont go there) but large daycare. So this one teacher, Mrs. April who must be pretty old (but they still handle all the kids, can pick them up, etc.. Im probably making them sound ancient but definetely no young girls there with bad attitudes..just overly loving grandma types. So everytime we leave, she says Dean can I have a hug goodbye. He with no resistance goes to her and she gives him a hug. Sometimes (not everyday) she will give him a kiss on his cheek and tells him to "be a good boy and have a good night". My monster-in-law I FEEL IS TOTALLY JEALOUS AND THAT IS WHERE IT IS COMING FROM but she tells me, whenever she has picked him up - "she doesnt need to be hugging him, she for sure does not need to kiss him on the cheek", "she annoys me by always wanting him to come to her before we go" and the last thing she said "she is spreading her germs by wanting him to come hug her before he leaves" WELL, DUH...SHE IS HIS TEACHER AND AROUND HIM ALL DAY AT THAT POINT.

I dont have a problem with it. He seems to like it, they actually do lesson plans for the 2yr olds, play music, learn Biblical stuff, play in a huge gym everyday, walk to a neaby park, etc.. I am okay with her behavior and dont think it is anything out of the normal. However, monster-in-law has convinced DH that she should be doing that. DH told me to post on it and get other opinions. What do you think? How do your daycare workers act to your kid?

One thing though...at least this place he is at now, they give a crap about him. Before, I never got a story of what he ate, what he did, etc .. Now, I get a full report everyday!
