I just started my third week of YOU: on a diet, it's a book and website by Dr Mehmet Oz (from Oprah) and Dr. Michael Roizen. I got the book from Costco for $15 and their website is free. So far I've lost 9.2 pounds in the first 2 weeks, and I haven't cheated once! The recipes are awesome, I haven't had one yet that I didn't like. And the website lines out a meal plan with a printable shopping list for 2 weeks worth of food, you choose what you want to eat.
I didn't measure my first week so I don't know how many inches I've actually lost, but when I measured yesterday, in one week, I lost 2.5 inches on my hips and 3.5 inches on my waist.
I have done every diet known to man, and this is the only one I've started that I actually feel like I'm going to stick to it. I even paid $1000 to join LA weight loss (program plus supplements), stuck to it for a couple months, and never went back. That just goes to show you that money is not a motivation to lose weight.
Anyways, this is the website if anyone wants to check it out, I highly recommend it. I know of 5 or 6 people also on this plan and they are also losing a lot of weight, one lady lost 18 pounds in a month!

Congratulations on losing 9.2lbs! Way to go mama!

That sounds like a great plan. I love that it even gives you a shopping list! Too bad I am already committed to QWLC (I spent a LOT of dough) or I'd switch.

I had heard about the Oprah guy's diet, so I am going to the site right now to check it out. I have done WW in the past and lost the weight, but gained it all back and more before pregnancy. With BFing I am down a little from PP weight but not much. I was supposed to do WW again (on my own) with my mom, but that hasn't been going well at all. I don't have the time to sit and figure out how many points everythign is. And I really hate eating prefab stuff (which is easiest to calculate), I don't feel that it is really "good" for you. KWIM. I need to eat more natural, unprocessed things. I know what I need to do it's jsut that cupboard of junk food is calling my name all day. It's for DH bucket, but I always get into it. I am always feeling hungry no matter what I eat. I am really looking forward to walking and being outside this spring, I hope that will help. Winter just sucks for me.

I think of it as my "winter coat", Laura LOL

I have had what probably amounts to a few handfuls of M&Ms since yesterday but, I have to give in from time to time or I break down...and V Day is a good excuse

When it comes to diet plans and food it has to be regular food I can buy in the store. The packaged stuff doesnt "teach me anything" kwim? I eat healthy ... my biggest problem tends to be portion control. hmmf! But I'm getting better! Now I just need to get more physical. I reeeally dont want to join the local gym even though they have day care and offer Yoga and Pilates...I WISH Curves had day care! I want to get in, do the dang thing, and get out! kwim?

Spring will be good this year since Molly-Fae is bigger and we can get out easier! I'm totally dreading a local mommy group meetup at the local indoor pool in like 2 weeks.....ohdeargodwhy

Good for you for cutting out soda, Crystal!!! (yes we call it SODA in the rest of the country I have friends from MI and give them trouble all the time for calling it "pop" ) I've never been a big soda drinker but I have friends who act like they would die without it! But I guess I'm sorta the same way about coffee

I could never cut pop out of my life. He's my dad.

So I've been on this diet for three weeks and I have lost 19 pounds. I'll take that.

Only 104 more to go....sigh.

I just have to keep my eyes on the prizes:

1. Pool season starts in 3 months. I want to be able to take Georgia to the neighborhood pool without dying of embarrassment.

2. Jamaica in October. I am supposed to be at my goal weight by then, which would be awesome, but I'm still not sure how I can lose that much weight in that amount of time.
