Jenny,

I know what you mean about challenges (espically this week)...I have Keira first B-Day, two other parties, a BBQ and I am taking my kids to a water park. I have been offically on the diet for 1 week and as of today I am down 7 lbs. Which means I still have 125 to go. Oh well One day at a time and one pound at a time. You are doing great and keep up the good work. I know I look up to you.

The plan I am following is the QWL at home. After reading about your success I read more about it, and contact the at home rep (since I live in PA). It is strict, and I need toplan ahead for everything. Which is good and bad for me. It is great when I do it and bad for day like today when I left my lunch and breakfast at home and I am at work, so now I have to find things that fit into my plan, which I have no control over.

Well I guess I will update here again. I have been on the program for 3 weeks, and as of today I am down 14 lbs. I am pretty happy. It is getting easier, and I am learning how to cook different foods. Funny thing my dh is down about 9 lbs. since I started also.

It is weird that I am heavy when my dd's are so small. We took Keira for her 1 year appointment and she was 15 lbs. 8 ozs and 27 1/4 long. She is only in the .25% (that is a point in front of the 25) Which means more than 99% of the kids her age are bigger than her. I wish I had that problem.

Way to go!! That's a great loss for three weeks!

Great job! I know what you mean about your DH. My DH has lost about 25 pounds since I've been dieting.

Jenny,

You seem to have been so steady with yourweight loss. I have been 14 lbs. down since Monday and I have not lost anyweight all week, even though I have followed the diet. Can you maybe post a smaple menu you follow in a day.
Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast- 3/4 cups of shredded wheat
Blueberries
Small Fiber one yougurt
Double crisp bar
Lunch- Grilled chicken salad
Orange
Van. Shake
Dinner- Tuna salad sandwhich (with low cal. rye bread)
Watermelon

That is all I ate and I gained a 1/2lb yesterday. I did drink my water, and I had decaf coffee and a glass of ice tea. What do you think?

I'm not allowed yogurt. Are you sure you are? I've been on plan II, III, and IV so far and there was no yogurt.

Aside from that....here are the possible problems:

Are you measuring your portions? That does matter.
Did you get in your salt and butter?
Did you eat dinner late?
Did you eat fruit after 6pm?
Did you use two slices of bread to make that sandwich? Too many carbs, if so.
Are you pre-menstrual?

Don't fret, though. It's not always steady for me either. In fact, I gained 2 pounds last week and the scale hasn't moved this week at all. I have had weeks where I only lose 1lb and weeks where I drop 5-6lbs. It's not always consistent. You won't continue to lose as much weight as you do the first week. Your weight will fluctuate from day to day, so don't let a 1/2 pound gain bother you. You could have a good bowel movement and lose that much.

My menu could be different from yours because we might not be on the same plan. Mine is also modified to give me more food early in the day because I often have trouble getting in all my food before it gets too late. So I get in one of my proteins at breakfast and split the other one in half for lunch and dinner. Here's a typical menu for me:

Breakfast
3 eggs, slice of lite 40cal toast, 4 oz skim milk, a fruit
Snack
QWL bar
Lunch
1/2 portion chicken over a bed of romaine with 2tbsp Walden Farms dressing
Sm. whole wheat tortilla
Snack
A fruit
Dinner
1/2 portion chicken, steamed broccoli
Snack
QWL pudding
