Default Seperation Anxiety - BIG TIME

For over a month now since about 5 months, Dean has been showing clear signs of seperation anxiety. If someone else is holding him in the same room as me and he sees me and knows I am not holding him, he starts to cry, kick and not want to be held by that person. If I take him, he is fine.

Other times if I drop him off at an in-law's, I can hear him cry when I leave.

I have been doing some reading on this and ways to help the child cope. They say to reassure him you are coming back (but Dean is only 6 months old...he doesnt know what I'm saying!) and also to no sneak out of a room but to let them see you leave. (Im not sure on this one as I have usually been sneaking out when he is not looking)

Anyways, anyone else have a little one such as 5 - 6 months now that is already showing signs? BTDT, what you done to deal with this in the past?
