Zach and Greg saw the genetic specialist yesterday. He and a few other specialist agree that both boys have a condition called Riley Day (familial dysautonomia) Familial dysautonomia - Genetics Home Reference . Although They don't appear to carry the gene for it so there seems to be some confusion on what is going on. Well they referred the boys to a hospital in NY because it is the only place other the Israel where the condition is being researched. What they think has happened is that the boys have a mutation that is unknown at this point. It appears that both boys have a fairly mild case of what I've read about on the internet but they both fit the symptoms especially Zach. To complicate the situation a little Greg does have 2 different heart conditions at this point. We are hoping that he will out grow them. They will decided in JAN how bad they are and if they are going to need to be surgically repaired.
