hey Allie!!! (everyone else too!) LOL WOOT!
Just wanted to announce .... Molly-Fae has taken her soy milk from a sippy twice today without one peep of a fit!!!!!!!!! I'm so freakin happy! Now if I can get her to go down tonight without insisting I rock her to sleep .... holy crap that would make it a perfect day!

Woot, Woot! Let's see a picture of little Ms. Molly and her new special cup!
I am glad for you and I'm sure it was a joyous day!
I seriously must have about $50 worth of "sippy" cup sitting on my counter. Dean has every damn kind, with straw, no straw, soft top, no handle, handle, hard top, cups with tops and straws, etc...
But...he uses his bottle 90% of the time. Everyday at daycare they ONLY provide all toddlers their milk in school owned sippy cups. Every kid has their own. They say some days he drinks at lunch, others not. They only have the hard top and IMO, he doesn't like that. So I pack him one with soft top, tall and skinny, no handle. He gets 1 oz pear juice in it and 3 oz water. He drinks it when I pick him up afterwards when he is in a piss *** mood and likely didn't drink anything at daycare. (Still adjusting big time!) So I think he took to the sippy out of despiration. (BAD MOM!) when thrown into the big boy room at new daycare, no choice, that is what the offered and they do NO bottles. It was rough. May be the reason I still give him bottles once home, at night in morning. Aiding to the habit.
I feel stupid saying this too but I don't think I have ever put milk in a sippy. He's only had it (they say) at daycare. I've done just juice or water but I shall surely try it at home and see how it goes over. It would be hard for him to drink his nightly water when he awakes from a sippy once I fully wean him from the bottle. I'd like to cut it out totally but he wakes.

Yay for her!! how fun! Miley only gets two bottles a day.. one in the morning and one at night.. and a sippy cup all day! hah she does great with them!
but she would prefer the water bottle with the top you pop open and then push close, if you know what I mean.. over any sippy cup..

LOL gosh I felt like I was so close to whatever a perfect day is!
I ended up doing the rounds with her last night from the time I logged off. It was her crying for 10-15 mins or so, I'd go in, calm her, put her down, then the cycle continued. I did this for 2 1/2 hours and still she refused to go down without me holding her. It was so bad, she could feel me moving to the crib and she'd begin to fuss even before I put her down. Finally DH wanted to come to bed so, she won. She fell asleep in my arms. I held her for awhile...I think i even fell asleep sitting up, propped on pillows. I put her down fine and didnt hear a peep from her till 730 this morning.
Nap time today sucked. She had her milk sippy, then breakfast, and afterwards started putting her head down on the floor and wanting me to hold her. I thought for sure she was going to conk out. Nope! She got a second wind so, I went to the store.
By the time we got home, she was rubbing her eyes and laying down on my shoulder. I put her in her crib while I put groceries away and picked her up a few times, like the night time sleep thing. She wanted me to hold her, but she didnt. KWIM?
Finally I put her in her crib and took a shower. OMG I felt awful. She cried so bad. I took a 45 minute shower because I couldnt turn off the water. I knew if I did, I'd get out and want to hold her. I stood there and cried and prayed she'd just fall asleep. Well, she did but, I'm, convinced I'm f**king up my child and that I'll go insane before this works out for the good of things.
Oh and DH and I had a huge fight last night when he came to bed because she's not adjusting immediately to me not holding her till she sleeps. We made up today by text but, our whole house is suffering right now.
I feel like this guy ...

Oh I am sorry she is giving you such a rough time with sleeping, hang in there! I am glad she is starting to drink from a sippy though. A little before Logan was 1 he just started drinking milk from one and fortunatly never had to go back to a bottle. I hope you can get her to settle more easily tonight for both your sakes.

Re: hey Allie!!! (everyone else too!) LOL WOOT!
jamie-
seriously you have to stick to your guns and just let her be. Yeah she is gonna cry but she will stop and go to bed. its learned behavior. The only way she has learned to go to sleep is with mommy holding her. I had to break G a few months ago from me laying down with him because it turned into i had to lay down with him and then i had to stay with him or he wouldnt sleep.
So when i decided that enough was enough i put him into his crib and did CIO. It took 3 days. After that he pretty much goes down without a hitch although since the teeth he fights it more. In any case I hope you can do it and hang in there and stick it out 3-4 nights. Just lay her down and walk away. Take a walk at night or something.
ill be back..lol seth needs the comp
