Re: DIJ ~:~ Precious Pearl Arrivals and Birthstories
I had my last appointment on June 14th I was hoping I was going to be further dialated since I had been having ongoing contractions for almost a week. I had blood work done the week before for the Choleostasis I had during my pregnancy. The dr came in and said so we are going to have a baby tommorrow I was shocked but excited, my lab results came back sky high and my liver functions were down so it was time for Kyleigh to come and meet the world. She checked me since I had already stripped down, she was shocked to see I was already 4-5 centimeters dialated and 100% effaced. She said well I hope you make it till the morning but if you start feeling stronger contractions to get to the hospital ASAP. So I ran around getting everything in order for the baby to come the next morning, that is always the fun part.
We got the hospital at 6 am got checked in monitors hooked up IV started all the unexciting stuff. A resident came in and checked me and I was 5 centimeters, they started pitocin around 8am and we sat and waited. My dr. came in around 9 we joked around for a bit he checked me and I was now at a 6 and he decided to break my water at 9:30 am, this is when the fun started. I should have told him to stick around but I honestly figured he would be there for a bit. My nurse kept asking if I wanted an epidural and at that point I felt ok nothing too major painfully going on. Well about 15 minutes later I felt like I was going to die, so I asked for an epidural. About 10 minutes later the anesthesiologist nurse showed up to go over paperwork. She was asking me all these questions and inbetween them she is saying "when is the last time they checked you, you sound pushy" She was being so nasty. My nurse came in checked me said I was at 7 so we went on with the questions with the nasty nurse. They had me sit up and I knew the baby was coming soon and I think my nurse knew by the look on my face. She asked if I felt pressure and I said a little but it was not time yet. So they had me move again and I was like oh crap I gotta push. They had me lay down and she was right there. The whole time my nurse is on the phone with my dr.'s office telling them to get him over here ASAP. She kept telling me he was on his way and I kept telling her I did not care who was there to deliver but she better get someone in there fast because I was going to push and she was going to have to deliver the baby then. So in runs a resident and they tell me go ahead and push, well out the baby flies in that one push onto the bed, no one expected that to happen. Not only did she come flying out but I swear there was about 10 gallons of fluid behind her the poor resident was soaked I just kept apologizing. Amazingly I had no tears and no stitches were needed. Miss Kyleigh Love was born on June 15th at 10:09 am weighing in at 8 lbs 4 ozs and she was 19 inches long. She has a head full of light brown hair that just sticks straight up. She is such a sweetie and justs wants to cuddle and be loved. We have all settled in so easily I am just amazed at how well she "fits" our family. I am so in love with my newest little girl and I cant believe that I am a Mommy to 3 little girls!

Re: DIJ ~:~ Precious Pearl Arrivals and Birthstories
John Thomas II...Birthstory!!!
Well here it goes... Wednesday June 20th I woke up around 8:30 a.m..DBF was already gone to work. I had these terrible pains It hurt everywhere..I thought I had to go to the bathroom..soo off to the bathroom where I didn't have to go..just some terrible nasty discharge..TMI..well anyways I went back to bed and tossed and turned for HOURS..Finally I woke up around 11 a.m to DD telling me she's hungry LOL that is what she says everytime she wakes up for the day.. so off the kitchen to feed her..I was still in lots of pain..Finally I sat on the computer and used the contraction timer..and there they were every 1-2 mins lasting 60 seconds...they were making me buckle over in pain..so I drove to my moms house which is about 5 mins away..I said we have to go now..so off we went this was about 2:30 p.m DD stayed with my sister at my moms. When I arrived at the hospital the admitting lady was so DUH..she was slow and she could obviously see I was in pain!!.I finally got to the OB..I was handed a gown and was told to change..I was getting nervous because I knew this was IT!!!..They hooked me up to the machine and the contractions werent showing..(THE MONITOR WAS BROKE) so after they got a new one there they were..they checked me and I was between a 4 -5 cm dilated!!!! when 3 days before I was a 1... So then I knew this was it..My mom was going to call my DBF at work but decided to wait a few since he is soo busy there.. the nurse came in and seen my contractions were bad and real strong lasting a long time..she started to mention about the different pain meds..I was like NO!! I did not want no needle getting close to my spine..i told her I can handle the pain!!! then i finally realized this was reall... i was going to have my baby on June 20th!!
Finally she phoned my doctor the doc who was on call to tell her what was going on...she was at her practice 35 mins away..and with all the construction she would be longer..Nurse came in with a bag of fluids for my IV..to help SLOW THE LABOR..since there was no doctor LoL!!! JOHN WANTED OUT!!! HEHEHE..It helped..except once the doctor arrived they forgot to shut it off LoL...Meanwhile my mom called DBF and told him what was going on...him and his mom arrived shortly after...finally the doctor came in to check me at 7 p.m I was at 7 cm...she had me bounce on a exercise ball to help him drop so she could break my water...
Finally she said she would come back at around 9 to check me and she did...i was at a 9 and she broke my water.. then thats when I was in true pain.. I couldnt deal with it..at around 9:30 I started pushing..all i remember was the doctor telling me to lift my bottom up and I couldnt i had so much pressure...I was having panic attacks everytime I pushed!! I would push at each contraction..Finally all I remember was ONE more push and he would be out she said..so I gave it all I had..she cleard his shoulder and he shot out...she almost dropped him..!!! When the babies head was sticking out DD bolted into the room..yelling mama LoL..everyone stopped her so she couldnt see me like that...KWIM?? All i remember is her seeing me in pain and I started crying because she was asking me if brother and I were ok..
June 20th 2007@ 9:43 p.m John Thomas II was born weighing 8 lbs 10 oz. 20 inches long.. my doctor told me her records showed i was 36 weeks 6 days along!!!
while everyone was enjoying my son I was getting stitched to death.. I had a terrible 3rd degree tear through all of my muscle YuK!! it hurt so bad I thought I was going to die..numbing needles shot all over down there even in my butt OUCH!!!...
Meanwhile he was born during the evening where record Thunderstorms came through our area...DBF car dealership was ruined..all of his brand new..Vehicles where damaged with baseball size hail...he was in such a bad mood..i thought he was going to cry..due to the fact he thought he didnt have a job anymore..so he didnt get to enjoy the birth of his son like i did..well he still has a job and they had a HAIL sale where they sold everything cheap brand new...
Well sorry its soo long..but its a BIRTH STORY RIGHT...

Re: DIJ ~:~ Precious Pearl Arrivals and Birthstories
Terran Duane David Jefferson
Born Friday, June 15, 2007 at 8:35 a.m.
9 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 inches long
I greatly enjoyed my pregnancy with Terran and looked more forward to having him in my arms each day as his expected due date, June 6, approached. At 37 weeks, I was 1 cm dilated with his head still up high—floating. At 38 and 39 weeks, I was 2 cm dilated with Terran’s head still high, not yet engaged in my pelvis. At just 2 days before 40 weeks, the only changes wer that my cervix effaced 25% and Terran’s head wasn’t as high, but still not engaged or at 0. After considering all of the options and doing what was best for the baby, we scheduled an induction for Thursday, June 14. We went in at 5:30 p.m. and I was set up on Pitocin by 7:00 a.m. By about 1:00 p.m., I was contracting every 2 minutes, but not progressing any. By 6:00 p.m., the only progress was effacing to 30%. My loving, supportive husband and I talked with the doctor and increased the Pitocin for the evening hours. There was no progress and my hips had not moved any for birth. The Pitocin was stopped, we waited for contractions to wane and had sandwiches and chips in the evening hours before resting. The OB-Gyn came back at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15 and set us up for a cesarean section. I was prepped in the birthing suite (shaved, catheter) and taken to an OR and given a spinal. The nurses with me were great—one was from the childbirth classes. The spinal was not bad at all and took immediate effect. After I was put on the table and prepped, Tracy came in and was at my head with Tom, the anesthesiologist, who stayed there the entire time. He talked with us and was a great support. (He teased me endlessly in classes as I did not want an epidural! ) I felt calm yet nervous. When begin prepped my legs involuntarily shook a lot, but I was more relaxed once I had the spinal and just prayed through it. I knew my baby boy would be fine and would be out here with us soon.
Lying there hearing his first cries was simply amazing. As Dr. Johnson held him for me to see, he was so alert and looking around. He was the most beautiful person I had ever seen! Tracy went over to be with him as he was being cleaned etc. His APGAR scores were 9 and 10. Terran Duane David was born at 8:35 a.m. and weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches tall! What a big boy! Tracy left with the nurses and Terran and I was given a sedative before being stitched and glued. I did not sleep through that whole process, but did for part. I went to recovery for half an hour once finished, and talked with Tom there until I was finally able to go be with my son! There was nothing like looking at him with my husband—what an overwhelming feeling of awe! Who knew life could be more complete! As soon as he was brought to my head for me to see, Tom asked if we wanted him to make a hair appointment for next week! Several nurses came to see this beautiful baby boy with the head full of hair! Everyone loved him, but not as heart-pouring, soul-inspiring much as his mommy and daddy! What a blessing Terran is!!!!!

Re: DIJ ~:~ Precious Pearl Arrivals and Birthstories
I went in to the hospital at 8 pm
By the time they got the induction started, it was close to mindight. It took two nurses + 4 attempts to get my IV started, so that was pleasurable!
Then the Doctor came in to do the balloon and the cervidil. When this all started, I was 2 cm I had to just lay in bed now for the cervidil to do it's magic.
I started having contractions pretty much right away now. they were about 8-10 minutes apart, and pretty bearable.
I think at around 5 they came and checked to see what was doing, and at that point I was 3 cm. I cried. It was totally depressing me. Especially since I had it in my head that I was going to deliver by 6 am.
The moved me over to L & D around 6ish. I started the Pitocin shortly after that, maybe it was 7ish and then my contractions were more like every 2-3 minutes and starting to be pretty uncomfortably painful. My doctor came, and I was so happy to see her!! She is the nicest woman on Earth, I swear!! After that I met the day nurse, Danielle, and I thought of you Sue, because you said I just wanted a good nurse, and she was a GREAT nurse!! I really liked her, she was totally attentive and friendly, joking around, a generally sweet person, and she was young, maybe in her later 20's. SHe kept asking if I was ready for the epidural, but I wanted to try and wait for the epidural, because it seemed like it was going to be a while.
At 8 am my doctor came back and broke my water. oh yeah, that scared the witts out of me, but I do not know why, because that does not in and of itself hurt. As soon as my water broke, the contractions coming every minute. It was certainly time for the Epidural NOW!! I was about 6 cm at this point, I think, and they were telling me that I should have her by noon so, at least I felt that I had an end time to think about.
The epidiral god came in, and actually the epi was not too bad. It did go right to my right hip and down my right leg first, but then it was ok, and I started feeling less.
My Doctor came to check me again aroudn 9 and now I was 9 cm and her head was pretty much right there, I could tell that she had finally dropped down, because when she checked me, I did not feel like she had to go up to my eyeballs!!
The nurse drained my bladder, then they I was begging for more epidural, I just could feel too much. They reminded me that I would still feel pressure, but I said, yeah I feel pressure and PAIN also. after a bit I got a booster on the Epi and felt a little relief.
At 9:30 they wanted me to start pushing and I had a panic attack, I swear, I though and said, "No, let's wait a bit still." They were laughing at me, and breaking down the bed, saying ok, well, in a minute. We could see on the monitor that her head was coming through a bit at a time, so eventually I had to start pushing.
I think I pushed through three contractions to get her out. Her head came out with her hand next to her cheek, and her umbilical cord was tightly wrapped twice around her neck. The doctor cut the cord, and unwrapped her, and then I pushed the rest of her out. Michael was even amazed at how tight that cord was around her! Those few uncertain moments, though, geeze, they take a lifetime out of you!!
Michael cried when he held her, that was my favorite special part of the day.
