Default Gas Prices O/T

So what is everyone paying for gas in your neck of the woods?
I'm in So Cal, and we are at $3.85 on average. I was in Santa Barbara two weeks ago and it was $4.43. This is all the cheap stuff, BTW.
We are also seeing a lot of stations offering a lower cash price. Like, it's $3.83 if you pay cash, but $3.89 if you use credit or debit.
How much is your gas and what general area do you live in?

Just lurking but this has been driving me nuts, outrageous gas prices!! I'm in Wisconsin and ours is at $4.05 per gallon. The thing that urks me is, one day it comes down like 2 cents, but when it goes up, it goes up like 10-15 cents and that keeps continuing. It's real spurty here right now, normally everyone is within a couple cents or so, but one station could be $3.89 and down the street it could be like $3.97 and across the street $4.05. Just nuts I tell ya!!

Oh this is a biggie! It's been about $4.00 per gallon for a few weeks now, and diesel is $4.43 per gallon (which we need for both the pickup and the furnace...the 500 gallon tank for the furnace is a killer now). I'm in Southwest Minnesota.

Just a note on the prices here. They suck big time, but the reason it's so unstable is they change so dang much from the suppliers (we know the owners of the stations here quite well, and nearly bought a gas station ourselves last year. Let's just say it's good we DIDN'T). For example, last Thursday the price dropped 9 cents first thing in the morning, so one owner dropped his prices. The next day the price dropped another 2 cents, and it was supposed to go down more after the weekend, so he dropped them a total of 15 cents for over the weekend. Monday morning, they went UP 25, so he ate that mistake.

THEY SUCK BIG TIME....It was down to $3.76 last week but then on Tuesday bamn...it went up to $3.95 - $4.00 a gallon in a matter of four hours on Monday. Now that I heard the price of a barrel went down I am waiting to see if it goes down a little. We currently have 3/4 a tank in the jeep and when we filled it up last time needing to put in 3/4 a tank it cost us $58.50. It's bad when you have to swipe your card twice to fill up the tank. They limit us to $50.00 a transaction. Oh yeah and the guy I work with here had to fill up his cherokee and it cost him over $75.00. But then he was at the point that he only had 2 miles to go and he would have been OUT. This is crazy....I know we won't be driving too far for anything. Heck we went to my grandmas for Mothers day and it cost us a fortune as the Liberty is horrible on gas.

ETA: I am in NW Ohio and I have to agree it depends on how far down the street you go though. Heck we can get it .20 cheaper just across the river...it's crazy..

I am in central VA and we are paying anywhere from $3.68 - 3.98 for the cheap stuff. We have stopped all excess driving at this point. I even tok a day of of work to stay home with Steven last week instead of driving the 30 miles round trip to take him to my mom's. Is is getting rediculous.

I think it is interesting that you don't hear the politicians talking about it anymore. It is where they get there money from and they are going to say enough to make us think they care and then back off. Don't want to offend big oil and loose their backing! The thing is that it isn't only affecting our gas it is affecting our food cost. When a box of spaghetti goes from .59 cents to .99 in 2 weeks that is crazy! Ok off my soap box!

Here in Virginia it's around 3.62-ish. I can't believe how high it is getting, I never ever imagined it would ever be this high!

heck for $3.60 a gallon we would fill up our gas cans....it's only going to get worse with Memorial Day coming up too....but what can you do? I mean they have us where they want us. I can't see where people that make minimum wage are going to be able to keep going to work at this price. Another guy I work with it costs him $120 to fill up his big truck....CRAZY
