Icon5 Wanna try Maca but ?'s

Hi! We are on a financially imposed break from ttc right now. Doing paperwork for a new RE, but it will be a while before we have an appt. I was wondering, where would be the best place to buy Maca? At a healthfood store or online? AND how much should you take for ttc? I would love to try it for this cycle, cause let's face it....it would be way cheaper than another iui right? My mom keeps asking me if I bought any....her youngest grandchild is 7 and she needs more!!! hahaha But no pressure, right?

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations Tirzah's Mommy!

I bought mine from a health food store in my town. I only took it for a week though since it seemed to affect my milk supply. (I'm still breastfeeding.) The brand I bought is "Solaray" and it has "guaranteed potency." If you can find a tincture form, that might be good too.

I've seen nice quality stuff online though -- organic, etc. It's not very expensive at all and certainly won't hurt you. I'd give a try.

My bottle said to take it three times a day with meals.

I forgot to say that the bottle I bought came in 300 mg capsules, but taking it three times a day would mean a taking a total of 900mg. I have seen people here on the board mention 500 mg.

In that other maca success story the lady gives a link to buy it online thats where I got it. I think it was $6.99 so about 12 bucks w/shipping. The capsules are 500mg and it says to take 2 a day so I did! GL!

Hi:

FIRST- Let me say that I am not a random spammer. Honestly. I am member.

I am a lurker who was part of the July 2003 board, and is now getting ready to ttc #3, and I just had to post a reply-- I am the director of publications for an herbals company, and we do in fact sell maca of an unparalled quality-- please go to our website and look it over. Its actually on sale this month. We work with indigenous healers and shamans and stand by the quality of our product.
www.earthhealers.com (my bio is under 'our compnay, then 'about us')

That said, give it time to work. It may take 3 months or longer, though some report much faster results. Men can take it as well for fertility help and libido enhancement. Incan women usually use it when they wish to beomce pregnant.

Good luck!! Let me know how everything works out.

HEY SANDY!!! It's great to see you posting again.

I'm on my way to check out the web site. I'm thinking of trying Maca. I'm on a 2 cycle break from doing medicated cycles so I guess it's a good time to try some herbal stuff.
That's for the link.
