Icon5 Progesterone cream?

Hi Ladies,
DH and I are going to be going the natural route for a couple months while we wait for our IVF sometime in August. We thought we would continue with Femara and IUIs until the IVF but I feel drained from the three rounds we have already tried and decided to try to get my body and mind at a baseline before we go major techno. My acupuncturist is thrilled and is confident she can get me pregnant in these two months (which would just be fine with me.) She is going to do something that is like an allergy test and see if I'm sensitive to anything (such as testosterone) and try to help sensitize me. We also think I'm estrogen dominant so she is having me use progesterone cream after I "O" this month. I'm continuing with false unicorn root and starting a yoga class too. I'm going to start some jogging again in the morning to try to bring down my estrogen a bit too prior to "O'ing".

Has anyone tried progesterone cream? What dose did you try? Any side effects or results?

I've not tried it (finally something I HAVEN'T done!) but I thought you might want to post over at the progesterone issues board. They should be able to give you lots of feedback, I would think. At least one of them must have tried the cream, don't you think?

I have tried progesterone cream and it seemed to shorten my cycles (from Oing on CD 17-18 to Oing on CD 12-14)
You do have to find the right dosage for you. I took too much one month (I was doubling up on my dosages to get the estrogen down) and I started getting really sore bbs (like PG sore) and things like that, but they subsided when I reduced the dosage.
Women who are thin, need less and women who have more body fat need more. I am sure that your accupuncturist should be able to work with you on that if she is expirenced with it.
I really hope that you can do it naturally!! Please let us know how it goes!!

I used it with great success. The brand I used was Emerita and Arbonne. YOu have to be careful to get the kind without any additional herbs in it. Just PLAIN progesterone. If it has black cohosh or other herbs, it can impair fertility instead of help it!
I used 1/2 tsp twice a day for the first month. Tried to up it to 1tsp twice a day the next month and it sent me into a tailspin. The perfect dose for me was about 3/4 tsp in the evening and 1/2 tsp in the morning. It is trial and error.
Also, make sure you do not put it on your sensitive breast tissue. OUCH! It makes them very sore!
Do not stop taking it until you have confirmed that you are not pregnant. Stopping it too early can cause trouble with implantation.

Thanks so much for the response!! My acupuncturist actually did give me a progesterone cream to use with both Black Cohosh and Vitex in it as well as a couple others from your list to avoid. I think she is quite good with the needles but I'm wondering about her herbal abilities. Thankfully I haven't taken any yetand will pick some plain stuff up at the local organic grocery. Thanks again.
