Hi! I'm new to the message board and just found this one for alternative TTC. But it looks like no one's posted for a while. I've been TTC 6+ years but really only got started on the alternative stuff in March 07. I'm doing herbs (Vitex, Dong Quai), nutrition and acupuncture. Is there anyone else doing acupuncture, etc?

Hi, I did do accupuncture for awhile. She asked me to have some b/w done, because I did not seem to be responding totally to it. After I had it done, I am now questioning my OB's answers. He told me I was oing, but I don't think I did last month. My temps never got very high.

Hi Shana. I've been dealing with issues of not ovulating too. I've finally just started seeing my temps go up the last few months after I switched to a new acupuncturist. But I think I'm going to stop if I don't get pregnant in the next month or two - the bills are adding up.
I'm not sure what to try next. Have you been doing any treatment since you stopped acupuncture?

hi im michelle and im the host here...sorry its so slow but the ladies branch out to other boards that are more active for complete support

im a student so i dont have much time to always get on....but i try to check in at least once a week or so.

as far as herbs go, you do know to stop them once ovulation has occured? also it can take up to 3 months for them to become active in your system.

im not sure what your ladies full story/ttc backgound is so i can really be sure on what advice to give just yet.

but please do your own research outside of what your doctor tells you on everything/anything you take.

oh and dh and i tried for almost 2 years with a doc ( clomid, trigger shots, hsg, charting , u/s to check my overies to time intercourse and ect) then i went on the pill for 7 months to rid af completely...my second month off the pill i did EPO from af-ovulation and we got pg!

CMcQ ~ I agree it is very expensive, although for me the OB is like 3 times as much per visit. My insurance will not pay for anything that even has the word infertility in it, so I have to pay to see the OB every time BUT my work pays for up to $350 to see an alternative DR per year. Strange huh? I found a site called Sperm meets Egg plan and have decided to try that this cy. I also am taking Vitex the first half of my cy to help strengthen them. Baby dust and lots of prayer for you.

Tai ~ I actually have thought of trying that. I have 2 children although they are both over 21 now. But both were conceived right after I was on bcp.

isnt it crazy! we go to all these doc apt, try all these meds/procedures and hebs that cost a ton then all it takes is a few months of BCP that you can get for free!

Well I actually thought about bcps, now I am not soo sure. Over the weekend my dd calls me(she's in FL), her bf has had to take her to the hospital. They think she had a mini stroke from the bcps, can you believe that. She is only 21 yrs old, with an 8 months old. On top of that she got Bell's Palsy. Makes me a little scare of bcps, you know

OMG! I hope she's ok! I don't think any medicine is without risk, even kinds like bcp's that everyone takes without even thinking about it.

bcp can increase your risk of stroke, blood clots and ect...but they dont cause it. if you already have the possibility of those things happening bcp can increase the chance of it.

normally a doc will review your medical history and try to match you with a bcp this suits you best.

Thanks. She is now home and on the way to recovery. They gave her steriods to get her face to beable to move again.

I am trying at this point to decide between going on bcp and trying femara when I see my OB again. I am almost 45 yrs old and hoping to get my bfp(sticky one) before it's too late.

Well my OB's nurse just called and he has agreed to call and talk to me on the phone, (no office visit). I really feel like he only does things if I ask him, I have to do all the research.

CMcQ I just noticed your siggie of 50 bazillion cys that is soo cute. And it certainly feels like it. I am on cy 37 myself.

shana your chart is looking pretty good...your temps are low for having just o'ed...but they are higher then last cy so thats a plus!
