Default Anyone have experience using soy tablets to ttc?

Hello!

I just started taking soy, 160 mg. last night on cd 3. I plan to take it through cd 7. I'm hoping it will help me O a little sooner, and give me a more penetrable egg.

I would really like to hear from anyone else who has tried soy, successful or not. What was your experience?

Thanks!

Hello - I usually don't post on this board, but just wanted to share my experience with you. I used soy for 2 months. . . I took one tablet a day for cds 3-7. I ovulated on my own both cycles and got pregnant on the second cycle. It did however, end in an ectopic pregnancy. But the soy did seem to help me ovulate. . .

Hi! I have pcos, and I gave soy a try this cycle. I found the info on it on cd 4, so I took it cd5-9. (Next month I will try cd3-7). I normally get a peak on my fertility monitor between cd18-21, but this cycle I got a peak on cd 15! I am by no means getting my hopes up, I have NEVER gotten a BFP without meds, but I will continue to try. Good luck! Sending lots of your way!

I have read something recently that taking Soy can actually inhibit your ability to get pregnant...

ok here it is... it was found in a book called The Whole Pregnancy Handbook and there is a whole page dedicated to Soy and fertility in which it states

Soy Food are rich in isoflaones, a class of Phytoestrogen, which is a waek non-steroidal type of estrogen with a wide range of health effects - most of them positive for example isoflavones from soy protien can lower LDL cholesterol, act as an antioxidant , and may help prevent breast cancers that are hormone related like breast and prostate cancer. Because of its estrogen content, some suspect that soy could contribute to both Male and female infertility. I dont agree and I dont think that eating moreate amounts of soy should be a concern to those trying to conceive . Moderation with so is worthwhile however for two reasons, first its hormonal component affects health when consummed in large quantities and second I think all food are better for you in moderation. By moderate I mean no more than 75- 100 Mg OF SOY in mond that various soy products have different levels of isflavones.
When weighing whether or not food is safe to eat or it interferes with fertility I think it's helpful to consider its observed effects in countries where it's eaten consistently. In asian countries where historical consumption of sosy is high women dont reduce the amount of soy they eat to become pregnant can safely consume moderate amounts of soy products they are easily digestable.

So I guess it comes down to how much soy you intake .. but I can see that maybe taking soy supplements might have a negative effect on conception ... but I will leave you to your own decision
