Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs

I have been using acupuncture for about a month to help with my PCOS & to help me get a REAL period and just help with cysts on my ovaries.. i also have been taking chinese herbs as well as other herbs such as saw palmetto for hair growth due to pcos and black cohosh.. I HIGHLY reccomend it...

Hi Ashley!

I just had a full pelvic ultrasound last week due to a dull and at times stabbing pain I was having for the longest time. Anyway, the tech said she saw a cyst on my righ ovary and was sending the results to my Gyno to examine and decide on a course of treatment.

I don't know what I may have (functional, polycystic etc..) but am curious as to the reason for hair loss with PCOS and if that is also the case with other cysts? Also, were you given b/c to help? And finally, what amounts of saw palmetto and black cohosh are you taking.

The hair loss is because of the increassed androgens and male hormones that PCOS causes - my friend has the hair loss - i have the hair growth in which i grow hair on my face and everywhere else its extremely thick.

Also, were you given b/c to help? I told my doctor I refuse to go on BC my husband and I are TTC - plus i used to be on BC the pill and the shot and it messed my body up.

And finally, what amounts of saw palmetto and black cohosh are you taking. I am taking 1800 mg of saw palmetto a day *4 pills* - and 1080mg of black cohosh a day *3 pills*.

Ashley,

Hi! I'm new to this board, but post on Femara & IUI boards. I'm looking into accupuncture for this cycle as well as taking Femara and IUI. I did call a woman who does accupuncture, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. Could you tell me a little about your experience? Cost? Etc?

Hello ladies!

I got pregnant by adding acupuncture in to the mix with injectibles when I had an IUI in January. We ended up losing the baby, but I do believe that it helped me conceive. I'm currently using acupucture and trying to concieve again, but so far, no luck. Keeping positive thoughts and doing yoga keeps me sane, because this is a hard road to travel!!!
