Icon3 What are your favorite History curriculums & why?

My favorite elementary History curriculums are The Story of the World series.

It is absolutely fascinating and keeps my children riveted. The author does an excellent job of pulling you into the book with her and she has tons of hands on history crafts, recipes, coloring pages, art examples, and etc. It is a World History course and is very thorough for such young children. She also has American History in the later books.

The book also comes on CD for you to listen to in the car or home or where ever.

My favorite History Curriculums for older children are the Mystery of History Series and the History of US Series.

I cannot say enough about the Mystery of History curriculums (These are world history books). They are excellent, extremely thorough, fascinating, and ... They make you want to study history! Another reason I love this series is that it takes Biblical history and weaves it in beautifully into world history so you know what happens in Bible times and what is happening in world history during that same time period.

The History of US series (these are U.S. history books) is just interresting! The author does a great job of making history seem almost like a story book so you just have to keep reading to find out more.
