Default exams stats here in UK

Valerie I see you have been so busy - I have to work today but Will be back later to chat some on your posts!

I came here to share our local NEWS!

THe country is turning into an exam Factory ....

EXAM NEWS

My hubby and I have been talking about this a lot as Ashley is to sit his transfer test in the auntumn - so muc pressure is put on the kids to pass exams.

But thte truth of the mater is we ( not us personally but us as a nation) are not actually educating the children, we are training them to pass exams and dump the information they have learned and not retain it. I have done it myself in the past, I have a degree and I just learned it and dumped it - if I ever needed to get that information again I will need to re learn it all.

Ashleys teacher commented on how 'children' dont have good general knowledge in school BUT he he also Ashleys general knowledge is exceptional - and why would that be ... hmmmmmm we encourage him to read so much, he does not get loaded down with xbox, ps3 etc he actually reads and does educational things in his spare time.

I am so glad we have opted for Home education ..... counting the daysnow till Ashley finishes school! BTW his lessons finish at the end of May, but the school doesnt officially close down till a date in June, due to that fact the children are only doing leisure things and transfers in June.
