Default Praying for workers next to my office....

I had to go to a meeting, and on my way back from the meeting, there were helicopters circling. I'm in a shady part of downtown, so I was worried it was a shooting, which it was the last time my office was on the news. But, from the 10+ fire truck/rescue trucks, it looks like a crane collapsed. One of the attorneys who rents space from us went to check on things b/c he is OSHA certified, but no one speaks English. I am trying to find out what happened. I hope that everyone is OK. It breaks my heart to think of what these men risk to build buildings. Doesn't it seem like there's been a lot of tragedy lately?!?! I wonder why that is.... Oh well, I am for the workers and their safety.

I actually heard on the news that there was a company that was being prosecuted for doing safety checks and such on these cranes and giving them approval without ever doing the inspections. There were one or two that had collapsed and were supposed to be certified safe that have never even been inspected... amazing that people think short cuts on safety are ok... I guess they think its not their families lives they are risking....

Scary! I hope everyone is alright. We've had two big crane collapses in NYC since March and its so terrifying. I have to admire the people that work with those machines because I couldn't do it. So many people not doing inspections, accepting bribes to look the other way and such going on up here.
