Kristina & Jenn
Here is a sample of the book. It even breaks it down to how many solid card stocks you need, how many patterned papers and WHAT is going to be cut from them by size. Its awesome.
Here is their sketch.
Here is their lay out
And here is mine. I usually just put a pic where the journalling is b/c I dont do it on every page since Im a "daily" scrapbooker (where as some are "seasonal" and only scrapbook holidays/bdays/etc). I used my cricut for the title.
I almost ALWAYS alter the pages from what they are telling me to do.
and check out these papers. they are from the Nana's Nursery paper stack at Joanns. It was $19.99 for 48 sheets (eek) but I used a 40% off, LOL and 1/2 of them are glittery (2 of each sheet and its THICK card stock, i hate the thin stuff that rips too easy). I was quite shocked with how much purple was incorporated into the boy one. the girl one was really cute too. I love the purples and creams being tied in, its more than blues/greens for me which is a GREAT change. I'm having a ton of fun with the entire stack.
Im very into speckled, dots and spots these days. I have a ton of spots wheels. my friend calls me spots obsessed, LOL.
there are for a lay out i just gathered papers for tonight

Re: Kristina & Jenn
Thanks for sharing that Jillian! I atually just bought (at JoAnns) a pack of "Christmas" scrapbook paper. Not sure why it was labeled Christmas because it's really just all different colors. I have a pack of patterned paper and thought I would like to incorporate some plain too. Now I just need to get moving! Mom is coming over again today so hopefully I can get Kate's room ready, her dress all cut out, and then get some scrapbook stuff ready. And get to the post office!

That looks really cool! I hope Michaels has it. I could use some layout inspiration.

Re: Kristina & Jenn
Kristina, I used solid forever and matted pics on patterned. Then I started using patterened but could NEVER incorporate 2 patterns into 1 lay out, it was just too much for me. Then I started shopping (on my palm springs trip) and would get 2-3 patterns that go together, that really got me wheels turning.
I still love my solids, and im in love with the TEXTURED cardstock. it looks so much better when I do tear methods.
glad you girls are getting back into it.

Re: Kristina & Jenn
I looked in the scarp section because they had some books there but I also looked where the keep all the books, in general. Maybe I should just order it from Amazon. I'll have to see what else I need. I should have ordered it with my cupcake pan. Since that is now backordered a bit, I wonder if I could add it to the order?...

Re: Kristina & Jenn
your cupcake pan is backordered? what a trip. i ordered mine on Jan 29th (i thought it was the same day you did) and it shipped on the 3rd. should be here the 12th. I ordered the pan and the 24-mini cupcake pan.
you might be able to add it if items havent shipped.

Re: Kristina & Jenn
Woo hoo! Thanks for the link Kristina. I may just get it off Amazon since I really want it and I'm not going to get time to look in our Michael's before we go. It will be a nice thing to come home to.

Re: Kristina & Jenn
I promise you ladies, its so worth it. the thought is taken out of scrapbooking but everything still looks custom and creative.
Im going to have to take a pic of what i did today. 4 out of 5 pages come from cherish now. Even my DH is impressed with what Im doing.

Re: Kristina & Jenn
OK heres the lay out.
the left where it says BABY (with stripes) was supposed to be cream colored but DH kept asking me questions and I screwed up the rub ons so I had to improvise. and I added the striped paper on the right b/c it was too plain without it. Im really loving this glittery cardstock. i need to go back and buy a few more of the glitter stacks.
I do alot of random pictures for scrapbooking and these were mostly left overs or ones that i didnt have enough to make full pages. all taken the first week he was home.
