This is a fwd I got from my Dad today. If you go to the website it lists people in your area who have committed crimes and tells you what type of crime and a picture of them with their name. I looked into it and thankfully there weren't that many, but it's still kinda scary. Check it out if you get a minute.

I've seen that before and there are 2 guys in one house about 10 minutes from me and all the others are more than 20 minutes from me.

That is really scary. I have a few in a 10 minute radius around me new house, but only one in my neighborhood.

Scary, isn't it? There were several sex offenders living in an apartment complex across the street from us when we lived in our townhouse. Our property management company did background checks and wouldn't lease to anyone with a sexual criminal record, but the place across the street used to take just anyone. Makes me shudder to think about.

A lighter side to that... a college friend of my dh's is now on the sex offender registry because he was caught peeing in public by a police officer when he was drunk one night on campus. Apparently that's enough to get you on the list! Unfortunately if you read the descriptions, most of the people listed have done much worse.

my neighbor across the street is on this list but he is NOT a threat. I just found out (today actually) that its b/c he was 18, dated his current wifes sister who was 16 and her parents pressed charges. he has been married to his wife for 26+ years and is on that list for the rest of his life. so please dont believe everything on those sites. i know they are meant for good but I had my UPS guy telling me about the guy being an offender and watch my kids, blah blah blah. ticked me off b/c thats spreading BAD info. not everyone on those lists are bad people, kwim?
