This is a discussion on I had a wreck this morning!... within the March 2007 - Babies In Bloom forums, part of the Born in 2007 category; I'm not even sure what all happened or how it happened I just rear-ended someone. I looked up ...
I'm not even sure what all happened or how it happened I just rear-ended someone. I looked up and it was to late. I hit my breaks as hard as I could but I hit them pretty hard anyways! He was fine, his car was just fine but my hood buckled just a bit and has a dent in the front and then my front bumber is scratched up.
The weird thing... I was buckled... I KNOW I was buckled... but some how I hit the windshield... pretty hard too! There is no mark on my chest and I dotn remember if I had to unbuckle to get out or not... I just dont remember. My husband said I probably wasnt then, but I NEVER drive without buckling!! Anyways he was a super nice guy and didnt care to have my insurance, and since it was my fault I didnt figure I would turn it in either, my dad use to be a mechanic so he can fix my car right up. so I called the police back and told them not to send anyone!!.. good thing I work at the State Police Headquarters!, But they said it was up to us if we need them or not anways!
Anyways.. I hit my head pretty hard on the windshield, I felt it first in my neck but now my neck dont hurt that bad, just my forehead. Right on my hair line.. I hit so hard that not only is there a knot .. it also skint the skin right there!
I told my husband that if tylenol dont make me feel any better then I may go to the doctor. I dont know. This was my first wreck though and boy it was scary! I'm just glad my kids werent with me!
Oh wow, how scary. Accidents happen so fast that it's usually a blur to almost everyone involved. I've been in a few and they are frightening! So glad the kids weren't with you. I hope your head feels better soon and you don't have to make a trip to the doctor. Take it easy today!!

I guess someone's gotta do the laundry around here!
Oh Holly that is so scary. Accidents happen so fast they are over before you even know it. I'm so glad the kids weren't with you. I hope your head starts feeling better soon. Take care and take it easy today.
holly PLEASE go get checked out just in case. you could have a cuncussion and not even know it.
For most drivers, around here at least regardles if they are at fault or not, someone saying they dont want to exchange ins info means THEY ARENT INSURED!
Thanks guys! I may go ahead and go just to get checked out and all. I think I'm fine. my upper arm muscles are already sore and my head STILL hurts, my neck is a little stiff already also so I'm sure I'm going to be super sore tomorrow!
Oh my gosh, you hit your head on the windshield?!?!?!? Wow, that must have been a hard rear ending...you are both lucky your cars and yourselves weren't hurt more.
I agree that you are going to be even more sore tomorrow. I hope just some advil will help you out and it doesn't get too sore.

That's usually what it means here, too. He also could have been OK right then and there, but not tomorrow. Oh, well. Glad things weren't worse and the kids were not in the car with you. Please be more careful!!

Chrstine, exactly but fortunately for holly tomorrow he cant come after her, they agreed to leave the police out of it.
dh has told me regardless how minor if im ever in an accident CALL THE COPS, better be safe than sorry. And we also have cases here where the person in back didnt really rear-end someone, the front person coasted back, knows it and says "oh dont worry about it" b/c they are worried about being found out

Yes, unless he would report a hit and run. It is always best to have a police report.

Ugh... I hope he dont do anything like that! Which I called 911 and then they transferred me over to where I work!! LOL and then after he said not to worry about anything since there wasnt even a scratch on his car... then I called them back and told them never mind. he just said ok, no problem. so even if he did try a hit and run... there will be records where I called 911 AND the state police (where I work)
Anyways... My head STILL hurts, it has not went away at all!! My neck is more sore now and my arms even hurt. I figure I'll be really sore tomorrow! I tried calling my doctors office but they are booked so if my head is still hurting tomorrow then I'll try to get in then!
How scary! I hope your head starts feeling better right away. You probably will be pretty sore in the muscles tomorrow though. I agree with the girls, you should definitely just go to the doctor and have them check you out. I've heard that some insurance companies will screw you if you later develop problems from an accident you never sought medical care following. Better to be safe than sorry!
I'm so glad you're ok, Holly! I hope you don't experience too much of the after shock pains....I've never been in an accident, but I have heard it can get painful in the days that follow.
How frightening Holly!! I hope you feel better soon, but I agree with everyone that a trip to the dr. would be advised as tomorrow will be worse. They can at least give you something stronger for the pain.
