Default He's on the run...

Noah learned a new trick today! All of the boys were outside playing and he wanted to go with them, so he stood there crying for about 2 seconds.... next thing you know, he reached up and turned the handle on the door. It's a french door so its not a regular knob, more like a handle. Well that was all it took.. he knows he can get the door open now so if we leave it unlocked he's trying to get out. I can't believe i am already having to lock doors!

And i don't know where he got it from but yesterday he started saying GO!!! or he'll say go go go !!!! its so funny!

Oh I'm so glad we're not the only ones! Kian has been trying to open doors for a few weeks now, but usually he doesn't have the strength to turn the handle. We have handles here too instead of knobs so it's easier for him I guess. I am not looking forward to having to lock everything up all the time!

Seriously, when did our little ones get so big!?

Wow, I'm not even sure if Jaymin is tall enough to reach our knobs yet, and he's 32 in. tall. Then again, it wouldn't matter cause he's not strong enough to turn them. They are still pretty new and I even have a hard time turning some of them, and Grant can't turn them yet either. I gotta say, it's kinda nice...Grant is 2 1/2 and he has to knock and ask to be let out of his room in the morning. I'm kinda dreading the day he can open any door in the house.

Have you tried those safety things that you can put over the levers? I've seen them before and wondered how they work. I guess locking the door should be enough though....until he can reach the deadbolt that is! aye, aye, aye....they are getting too big!

thats crazy Kami, but im glad you saw him do it rather than him doing it when you were in another room.

Caleb has figured out our hall closet but its just a knob you pull, no turning. (he loves to shut it while Derek is in it searching for shoes).

can you buy door locks for french knobs?

wow, scary! claudia has already figured out doors and she carries around a plastic chair so she can reach. i'm so glad we have knobs on the doors, because she doesn't have the strength yet to turn them. in contrast, kayleigh is 4 and can barely open doors. she didn't figure them out till she was 3. it's funny how different two kids can be.

It's amazing how fast they figure it all out.

I have a front glass door in front of my front door that hasn't been latching as well. The little ones are in and out so much and don't bother to make sure it latches and Ella constantly escapes if I'm not right there. Yesterday we had a huge wind storm that came through and the door didn't get latch and the wind caught it and broke the door Which is probably a blessing in disguise because the boys will be forced to shut the main door in the mean time until I can replace it.
