Just curious (again!) how the whole experience lasted for your Babies in Bloom LO. I'll give it another shot if we have another baby, but I do worry about pumping while at work and how much of a pain that will be or if it's even possible to pump enough to keep my supply up.
Anyway, just wondering who is still going strong and enjoying it still.

Re: Breastfeeding poll
Lainee pretty much weaned herself at 9 mo. It was really strange because the boys all went well past a year (Jaxon was my longest at 18 mo!) Maybe it has to do with the male species and their obsessions with boobies?
I voted other because we actually went to 13 months but that wasn't an option. We weaned days before she turned 13 months.
Ya know, as I was reading my last slide under the microscope just now, I realized I didn't create that option. So much for focusing on my work. (uh..my paid work)

Could be!

I bf'ed til I got pregnant, which was somewhere like 9-10 months...more like 10....I know I didn't have to wean when I did (even though the doc wanted me to), but in the end, it would've happened a few weeks later anyway with my being so sick. I expected it, and there is just no way I coulda gone any longer, as dehydrated as I was.
We are still going, but I want to stop by a certain age, just not sure when that will be! Zeon doesn't seem to be interested in weaning himself yet, so I will help him along. I just want to get him healthy and sleeping normally before I start.
I never thought I would bf Sofia for this long. I had major issues with Leo and just gave up. With Sofie I tried estra hard. I don't think I ever had a good milk supply. I took fenugreek and drank tees and such and she was literally attached to me 24/7. I was going to wean her at 4 months but I started to enjoy the bond and could't imagine to stop when the time came. Sofia never had a bottle for a whole year because she just wouldn't take it. That was another problem. Now she always asks for 'nini' even at night she sometimes wakes me up twice. Compared to Leo at that age she is still a baby baby even though she talks quite alot. she just can't be without 'nini' even though she gives me a break throughout the day now and I don't nurse near as often as before. Now she drinks out od cups and bottle (water, juice or milk) but at times she still asks for bf and it breaks my heart to say no because she will cry and throgh herself on the floor. I am planning to wean her completely soon though, just don't know when and how yet lol. I haven't had for years now. I guess without 'nini' I would have another 'nini' by now if it wasn't for that. Did anyone understand what I just said .
Stacey are you trying to get pretgnant? yipee, maybe at the last MC you were telling us about before???
Absolutely not!
In fact, I think that is the last MC for awhile until hubby can pinpoint AF again. We don't use birth control so abstinence is the method of choice apparently....he won't come near me!

I voted other because of the meds I was one and had to be on, there was not enough studies on how it would effect Joe. So no chance in hell would I harm my child.
We weaned the week after MC turned 1. I think if I wasn't already pregnant, I would have tried harder to keep it going a little longer, but since I knew I'd be doing it all over again in a matter of months, I was happy enough to let it go.

I voted "Physically unable to BF) We tried, we tried everything actually. She had a great latch and I had very little pain, no cracking or bleeding, everything seemed great, except for the fact that she just wasn't gaining very much weight...the doc thought maybe I didn't have enough milk so I pumped in between most feedings to try to build it up and I took fenugreek and it did seem to build up a bit but still not gaining enough weight, so at 7 weeks when she still wasn't back to birth weight we gave up. I was so emotionally spent, it was the absolutely most stressful time of my life, I couldn't understand why I couldn't do this thing that's supposed to come so naturally for everyone, and not us...I still get choked up thinking about it, and guilty for not stopping sooner, we changed to formula and she gained 8 oz in 1 day...
I'm going to try again with this baby, and hope it's completely different, but I plan to start supplementing if I see she/he is not gaining they way they should...
I voted 7-10 months. I started weaning daytime feedings very, very slowly when he was 3 or 4 months, and by the time I went back to work 5 months pp, he was down to just evening and nighttime feedings. He continued the evening/nighttime nursing until about 8 months. I'm hoping next time around I'll be able to go for the full year, at least since I'll be a SAHM!
