I know it's just a number and truly anything can happen at any time (even full term) with dire results, but there's something about today that makes me breathe a huge sigh of relief. Reaching 24 weeks means we've reached "viability". It's hard to wrap around my brain sometimes.
It's going by quickly and I'm sure it will go even faster as I get to the point where little mundane things will be a huge task. I'm just trying to think week by week. Working is definitely helping, not to mention the bi-monthly OB appointments and the u/s every 3 weeks. I'm sure those will pick up in frequency soon.
Next milestone is 28 weeks, then 32 weeks, and dare I even say 36 weeks?
that is awesome lynne...
this one seems to be going easier for you than colton's pregnancy....
I hope it will continue to go easy for you and your beautiful two little girls
It really does feel better! I was just telling DH last night that we were into viability and we are both so excited now. I bet it's an even bigger sigh of relief for you though, since there are 2 babies you're trying to keep safe in there. I guess your shopping spree should begin soon! I can just imagine all there is to buy having 2 little girls on the way! I hope you get another hefty shower like you did with Colton! You need one!
I know this pregnancy is flying by for me right now! I couldn't believe it when my doctor said, one more visit in a month, and then every 2 weeks after that! Whoa! I don't have a single thing planned for the room or any of the extra girly stuff I need to buy, and there is so much going on in life right now, I don't even know when it'll get started.
Yay! It is a relief to hit that 24w mark isn't it? Especially with two little ones in there I imagine. I remember you being happy when you reached this milestone with Colton too.
Speaking of shopping for little girls.....is that their bedding I see behind Colton's car in your siggy? Inquiring minds want to know what you're planning for their room.
Congratulations, Lynne and girls. I'm so excited for all of you. You sound so much better this time around. I know I keep saying that, but I am so surprised that you feel better with twins than you did with just Colton. Happy baking..... I can't wait to hear that you have made it to 28 weeks. That is just 4 weeks away. You can do it!!

It really is a huge sigh of relief. And yes, the shopping spree can officially begin. I have already purchased their bedding, cribs, and changing table. But other than the bedding, nothing else is sitting in my house so it doesn't count. Right?
As for the shower, I'm planning a co-ed BBQ at the end of June. I hope it's as fun as Colton's shower was!! I'm sure you're gonna have a big one, too, right?? Nothing planned for the nursery? You better get on it, it will be time before we know it!! But I agree, sometimes there's so much stuff going on that I don't know where to start either!

I felt like I was just holding my breath until today. I kept wondering if I was pushing myself too hard, doing too much, being naive and possibly ignoring signs of problems, etc. Even my doc is surprised I'm doing this well. He told me at my appt. that I looked great, much better than I did with Colton. When I agreed that I was pretty haggard during my last pregnancy, he said, "OMG, I'm so glad you said that. As soon as that came out my mouth, I thought how am I gonna talk my way out of that comment?"
And yes, that is the girls' bedding. I think Scott's gonna paint this weekend so I'll have pictures to post (hopefully) on Monday.

I'm so surprised, too, Christine. The only thing I can think of is that since they are side by side, neither of them is on my cervix. Or maybe they're just being good now because they're gonna be terrors when they come out!
That is awesome! And to be honest, I have just assumed good things all along. As in, I didn't see you stressing about much at all this go around, so the whole viability milestone didn't even enter my mind. I just completely assumed those little girls were meant to be here and will be arriving safe and sound and as planned.
Yahoo on (mentally) starting to get the nursery ready! I am holding you to some pics on Monday. Getting started is the hard part, but once you get going, it should be lots of fun!!

Lynne I can totally understand where you are coming from. Dhs cousin delivered a 26 weeker and he is a happy, healthy 2 yr old now (with a little brother who made it to 34 weeks). And a friend of mine had a 26 weeker as well (2 mos after the cousin) and she carried her 2nd to 39 weeks 6 days, she thought it would NEVER end.
What is the GOAL for you? 36? 34? Will they put you on bedrest soon or are you still just doing okay? sorry if ive missed the updates
Oh Lynne, Im so excited that you are doing so well! I definitely breathed a sigh of relief when I got to this stage with Megan, it makes you feel so much better!! I cant wait to see pictures of the nursery, Im sure it will be beautiful!
Lynne...That's our plan too...the co-ed BBQ thing. I had a co-ed surprise shower with Jaymin, and I LOVED having the special men in my life there. I don't really want a formal shower this time...just a get-together to celebrate. I mean, I don't want to invite all the same people who have been to all my other showers. My kids are so close together, I'm sure people are getting tired of the invites. I'm hoping it can just be a fun casual thing.
And, yes, I know, I'm so behind! I have been looking at bedding online, and I'm still trying to decide if I love any of it enough, or if I just want to pick out my own material and have my mom make it. I can't decide. I think I've just about seen it all from all my internet searching, and I have only fallen in love with the stuff that is $300+....and that's just not happening! I may choose one of the others that I like though, cause I do have some that I like a lot. Plus, I'm a bit limited because the furniture in her room will be a mix of white and cherry, so I need a bedding that will look nice with that. We'll see.
Thats great, Im so happy for you and the twins.. Everyweek will go fast and soon you will be holding your babies.. Thats so exciting. I worked until I was almost 35 weeks and then I was put on bedrest. But I didnt have to sit around all the time I just watched TV and called it a mini Vacation since Alexander and Zachary were in daycare.
Woohoo on 24weeks! What a wonderful milestone. I think you are doing wonderfully Lynne, and you look great in your belly shots. Those little girls are being proper little girls and behaving like they should....for now anyway. No promises though when they are 15!!
