Default What to do??

I finally got the insurance stuff settled. GUESS WHAT! The insurance will not pay for MEDS if doing IUI. I am so sad right now but trying to take my own advice and think positive that since surgery I shouldn't need the IUI and everything will go good. Due to $500 ded. its still gonna cost me about $1,200 this cycle let me just scream now and get over it but HOLY COW BATMAN!! I just cannot believe this, as if getting pregnant was not hard enough they had to throw all these fine line in there. Thank God its Friday cause I sure can't take much more. I dunno what to do with insurance if bfn this cycle the next month of meds I won't have to pay ded. and meds and u/s's would only cost me around $300-450. Or just take my chances and do IUI w/o insurance and pay the $1,200. As of now I decided to go with insurance so confused!! DUNNO KNOW WHAT TO DO OR THINK AT THE MOMENT. So frustrated right now aaarrrgggghhhh.
Have a wonderful weekend ladies,
Nessa

AWWWW....BIG BIG HUGS!!!!!! I am sorry you are having such bad luck with your insurance. I know in Canada they did not cover my meds or scan but everything else was covered. It cost us $350.00 per month to cover meds and U/S. The US medical insurance plans confuse the heck out of me.

Sorry it is adding stress during this time......I wish I could help more!!!

ALL I know is that once you get your and then hold that little bean in your arms it will ALL be worth it.

BIG HUGS BIG HUGS BIG HUGS

Oh Nessa i am so sorry.
You are right though haven't we got enough to deal with here. I feel everyone has there own fair share of problems, but boy IF is just so hard, and yes the U.S Insurance is confusing, back home (England) we are fortunate enough to not need to purchase health care, although IF is very limited, but at least everything else is covered.
I watched Oprah the other day, she had Michael Moore on the show, now i am not a huge advocate for the guy, but he makes some good points and "tries" to open peoples eyes...Well they discussed Healthcare in America, and it's really a barrel of B.S, I will never understand how many people are left to choose between life saving surgery or food and shelter...OUTRAGEOUS!!! Anywhoo, hopefully a change will come, and soon IF will be seen as what it really is, a medical problem that has every right to be treated as a hip replacement etc....
Oh well i am getting off my pedestal now lol
Nessa i do hope you are having a good weekend!

Nessa,
If you choose to do the IUI this cycle (which the insurance will cover/ but not meds - if you choose it) and for some reason you don't get the BFP, are you locked into doing IUI again, with them not paying for meds? Or can you choose to not do IUI the next time and will they pay for meds that cycle? I sound just as confusing as the insurance coverages actually are.

I'm just going to pray that whatever you decide, will be the right choice and God will bless you. Our Health Care is so screwed up in the states.

Thanks ladies, I will try to make it all little more understandable to the best of my ability. If we do IUI NOTHING is covered. If we do not do IUI meds and u/s are covered at 50% after $500 ded. So I think this cycle and maybe the next I will give follistim/femara/metformin a try since everything is cleaned out now. If no BFP then I will pay for all meds/u's/iui out of pocket and give that a try. I am praying I will not need IUI since everything is looking up now as far as the tubes, uterus, cervix, and previous infection.
Hope this makes more sense, I will just continue to pray and put it in God's hands.
Thanks again!
Nessa
