Default Weird doctor questions

I really like my regular GP; she's the one who got me in to see the RE so quick, but last visit when I had to go get a swab before I was supposed to have my IUI, she asked me what an IUI was. Then today I go see her and tell her I'm pregnant and how the Femara finally worked for me, and she goes, "so what's this 'Femara'?" So I had to explain that to her too.....I know she's just a GP, but surely she should know that! Anyway, I go to the RE in 2 weeks for an ultrasound, yay, and then on to my OB/GYN.

HEHEHE....I know it seems so odd but truly a GP only know very little on everything so they can help and / or get their patients to the right person. So to not know the details about IF is very common. Now some GP will know lots about certain aspects depending on what experiences they have had and what the need of their patients. So it could truly be that not many of her patients have had issues with IF so she is learning with you.

It can be un-nerving but its not abnormal at all Have fun at your U/S, can not wait to hear how it goes

Good thing she doesn't pretend to know like she knows it all. I would rather her ask so that she can get better educated than to show a pompous attitude and act like she knew what you are talking about!
