Update #2 - Miracle, Good and Bad News

Greetings,

Thank you very much for all your support, positive thoughts and prayers. I truly believe they have made a difference and dramatically helped. We got a miracle - My DH’s heart is PERFECT.

When they did the second test on Saturday morning (the U/S down his throat) they could not find the defect at all and everything looks like it was in working perfectly. I am still confused how you can see it one way and not the other but the doctor said the second test was far more detailed and that the cardiologist and him saw absolutely nothing......

We are soooo very happy about that.

The good news: everything from the top of his head down to his heart looks really good. There are no blockages, no tares, no plac, nothing that would cause a stroke. Everything looks perfectly healthy and there is no reason for him to have a stroke currently. Now this brings me to the bad news: They have NO answers or reason as to why he had the stroke to begin with and from all his test and due to his age the doctor said it should not have happened. We are still waiting on some outstanding blood work and it will not be in for approximately a week. They are testing for all kinds of blood disorders and all kinds of other things. Hopefully this will give us some answers. This has been so si-real and crazy I am still in a state of shock.

My DH is home (well at his parents) now as they do not want him to be alone and he is on bed rest for the next week. He is doing pretty good but ever since he had the stroke his neck and one shoulder have been hurting so bad he has been on vikeden for the pain. He may end up needing some physical therapy to fix the problem as it gets so bad he can not turn his head and has trouble with his arm. He is still really week and externally tired but has trouble sleeping still.

They have him on a new med for anxiety / depression / panic and migraine prevention and then the neurologist gave him a prescription for a med to take as soon as any headache starts. He had to take it for the first time today and he said it seems to work quite well. The doctors told us that ppl with migraines “can” but not always have what he calls sticky platelets. BUT again we will not know till after we get the blood work back. He has also put him on an aspirin regiment.....one aspirin a day till he gets all the reports back and depending on the findings it may be a life long thing....but its not a big deal if it will help and give us peace of mind.

This doctor is truly amazing. He does not have a private practice as he works for the hospital BUT he told both my hubby and I that he wants to follow his case through. He gave my DH his card with all his contact numbers and told him to call and set up an appointment next week so he could go over all the test results and see how the new meds are working. He is very concerned with why this happened and wants to be the one who follows the case through so nothing gets missed

I am so happy about that…..it put my mind a bit more at ease knowing nothing will slip between the cracks plus he told my DH to give me the number so I could call with all my questions and told him he would keep me updated with everything. I got to talk to him on Saturday and he was so nice and explained everything......it’s was nice to have some info first hand for a change. He even offered to write a letter for us to help with our immigration. He told me to make sure my hubby lets him know if it is needed. So as bad as all this is maybe it will actually help get me home faster......keep your fingers crossed for us.

I am feeling better but still have my moments of completely breaking down. I still feel quite out of it and none of this feels real to me. I am doing my best to get my emotions under control but I am really struggling with it. I have to say the anger is the hardest as I do not know how to get rid of it. My girlfriend got me a gift cirt for an hour and half massage

I have an appointment on Thursday after work and can not wait....I think it will be some much needed stress release.

I feel greedy asking for a third miracle as we have been granted 2 already. The first one for us was the beautiful little bean inside me and now the second is that my DH's heart is perfect. The third one we are still hoping and praying for is the ability for me to go home soon and that my immigration will be approved. This has been a crazy crazy year and a half....I truly hope all our tests and trials will be over soon and that we will be a happy family able to life in the same country.

That is wonderful. I am so happy that your DH is doing better, I hope that he can get pt and his neck and shoulder so that his pain goes away.
When is your next appt...I know that nothing makes me feel better then seeing my babies, I am sure it will put a smile on your DH face to have a pic of your sweet little baby.
Soon you will have your green card and the two of you will be able to make up for lost time...sending you lots of prayers that everything will work out and you will be home for the holidays.

Glad to hear everything is looking up. Also what a relief that your dh's heart is all good. That is the best news!! The therapy should help him a lot my papa just had a stroke and it has help him a lot. Hope the pain subsides for him, and you guys get to be together soon!

I am so pleased to hear you guys got good news....And as for getting 3 mracles....Remember the old wives tale of : "everything happens in 3" Well i am hoping and praying you get your 3rd!!!
