I'm so sorry to keep you ladies in suspense all day yesterday! We were gone pretty much all day. We got home around 7:30 PM and then I had to make this layered jello salad for a Christmas work party I have going on today. I was so worn-out, but I slept so well last night (minus baby Adelaide moving around like crazy while I was trying to fall asleep....lol).

My u/s went very well. Right after the tech put the thing on my belly, she asked, "So do you guys want to know if it's a boy or a girl right now???" Of course, we said, "YES!!" And that's when she told us it was a girl and pointed out the 3 little lines! We are having a precious little baby GIRL!! And we've decided to name her Adelaide.

The u/s tech measured everything and everything is looking/measuring just perfect. The hb was 147 and our baby girl was weighing in at 11 oz.

We got some good pics; I'm going to try to get them uploaded to photobucket right after I finish posting this message! But we didn't get a pic of baby Adelaide's profile because she was being stubborn and wouldn't turn over! She's just like her momma- VERY STUBBORN! I swear, the u/s tech poked, prodded, and bounced my tummy for about 15-20 minutes and that little stinker just wouldn't turn over!! She was busy kicking and putting her little hands up by her face during the whole u/s....and we even saw her yawn!! It was so cute!

After my appointment, we went to Babies 'R Us and started our gift registry. We bought a cute little outfit for her too! I'll have to take a pic and show you all! Once we were finally done at the baby store, we ventured out to some other stores a put a good dent in all our Christmas shopping.

Horray! Congrats on your great news! I have a dd so I can honestly tell you, girls rock! There is so much cute girlie stuff out there, prepare to be in the poor house!!

I had my suspicions that you were having a girl. That is wonderful. I have a stubborn girl myself!!! So if you ever feel like banging your head against the wall - when she gets older of course - just give me a shout!!! Congrats. Glad you were both excited about what the baby is and got to do your shopping and things like you had planned. That is SO wonderful.

BTW, love the name!!! Is it a family name or where did you come up with it?

Thank-you all for the lovely congrats! Yep, we're definitely just bursting at the seams with happiness! My dh really wanted a boy, but he keeps telling me that he's not at all disappointed. I'm sure once she makes her big debut, she will have her wrapped around her little finger in no time. LOL

Shannon- So you thought I was gonna have a girl all along, eh?? Hehehe. I'm very tickled that you liked her name! Nope, it isn't a family name! I've known for quite awhile now that my name is a shortened form of Adelaide. And when we found out that I was pregnant, I suggested the name Adelaide to my dh and he just loved it. We were 100% decided on that for a girl name for the longest time and up to the u's, we still hadn't decided 100% on a boy name. I always told dh that I thought that was a sign that we were having a girl. But anyway, I just think it's kinda cute that my name is related to my baby's name. Oh! And we'll call her 'Addie' for short! Awww!

I kind of wondered if you would call her Addie! That's what I would end up calling her too, if she were mine and I had given her that name. I think it's wonderful that her name and yours are relative to one another.

I tried to talk DH into the name Leah for a girl this go round because my middle name is Lee, but so far he isn't biting. The day I got my the first thing that popped into my head as I watched the line come up was Leah Christine (That's DH's mother's name - the Christine part) and I had never considered Leah before at all. I just thought it went well and it was almost like a sign that this would be another girl. Of course we don't know yet, but I can't get away from that name. Anyway, didn't mean to hi-jack your thread to talk about my baby name.
