What does your doctor recommend? Last month I had one follicle that was 23 mm, and they gave me the trigger that same day.

My Doc tells me when to take it so I am not sure either, but I only had 1 follie like Katie and I don't think it was that big. I took mine immediately following the U/S.

My doc just said to give it today although when we talked yesterday at first he said they would give it to me today. He is not my normal doc and I was not happy with him. He just wanted to get me in and out. Soooooo I guess my plan is just to trigger tonight.

I mean when the doc and I talked yesterday they were going to give me the shot yesterday. Then he asked if I could do it myself and I said yes--then he changed his story to giving it today.

That's what I think you should do as well. Then make sure you BD tomorrow night and Sunday night. Have FUN!

I am in Raleigh. I've been to New Bern for work, when I used to work.
As for your trigger and BD, I'm going off what my doc tells me to do and mine are usually smaller. If you don't have a male factor, I'd suggest tonight as well just in case you O early. (Which is known to happen!)
I go for my u/s on Monday morning and they will probably tell me to trigger that night and then BD the following two nights. Last month was my first month and they triggered me in the am (since it was my first time and I didn't want to give myself a shot) and then told me BD the following two nights. I didn't listen very well though and BD the night of and the following night. I just read so much about how it is better to have the sperm there waiting than to try to get it there at the same time or later. I think this month I'll BD starting tonight until next Wed, but I have a feeling my DH is the problem and not me. (He won't test!)

OH....by "mine are smaller" I meant that my follies were smaller than yours last month AND I only have 1-2.

Good luck!!! My doc told us when to trigger so I really do not have any suggestions. As for BD'ing: We did the night I took the shoot (I took it first think in the morning) and then for the following 3 days just to make sure we caught my eggie!!!

So do you girls know what size your follies are when you trigger? Maybe I should start a new thread asking that???

KLB--do you think I have too many eggs?? I was feeling pretty good about having more--more targets thus more likely I will get pg. With my first ds when they did my first us at 8 weeks there were 3 sacs--only one had a heartbeat. My theory is that I have bad eggs--so I need lots of targets. I am sorry that your dh won't get tested. Mine has not been tested but with my usual cycle being so wacky and me getting pg in the past my dh somehow has gotten out of having to do the test!!

I can not remember what the sizes where for me....I know I had one mature and one that "might" be by the time I triggered. I do NOT think you have too many at all. 2 seem small and I think even if all were released they are not all a viable size.

GOOD LUCK!!!! I feel bad you seem to be NOT getting the support you need from your doctors. I hope that changes as they should be going over every and all options with you.

Sorry to post so late, just got online today....My RE always gets me to trigger as soon as my largest is 18/19mm because the Ovidrel actually makes the egg grow and mature more before releasing and also causes the others to grow and mature before releasing...So i do hope you were able to do the shot last night or at the latest today. GL and KUP

I agree with Lou my Re won't do the trigger unless the follicles are 18mm or above, from what I ve been told getting the trigger allows them to grow another 2mm. When you do the trigger the eggies don't release for another 24-36 hours which gives them another day to grow around 2mm a day.

Thanks girls. It was an adventure having dh give me the shot on Friday night. I hope to not have to do that again. Although bless his heart he did suggest ice beforehand--which really did help with the pain. He said I got some welts right after the shot--I hope that is normal. They are gone now. I had to lay down right afterwards because I was feeling nauseous--lol!!! DH did it really slowly!!! Anyway I was laying in bed last night thinking bd was not necessary last night but then I thought we better bd every night--just in case the eggs decided to pop on their own--since I did NOT want to do that shot again. Of course then I see in your siggies how many months of fert treatments you have endured--and I am in awe at your perseverance and terrified that I too will have a long siggie with lots of cycles behind me.
