Hi girly,
I hate hearing this about the Bata numbers......It makes me so frustrated that she would give you that number with out having a second one. Sometimes I honestly do not think the nurses think about the info they give out to new moms. ESPECIALY new mom's that have been fighting IF challenges.
OK...so this is what I have learned about Bata numbers. Doctors use them as a rough estimate / guide to get an idea of what is going on it side. They are extremely hard to use to get the whole picture as there is such a huge range. The main thing you look for is them to double or close too every 24 to 36 hours. Just having one number truly does not mean much.....you really need to have 2 to 3 pulled in a row to get the full picture and even then its only a “quick” look at what is happening……It can help determine if there is a multiple birth or if is a chemical pg but nothing is for sure with them….its only a small indicator. My doctor told me he like to see them to have an idea if there are other test that may be needed but he does not use them for diagnosis.
The good thing is having them register means you are PREGNANT!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!! Honestly girly I would not worry about that one number. It is in range for where it "should" be and truly one number is NOT enough to put any extra though on. Try to enjoy your new exciting news…..I know it took me a bit to get my head around the fact that I was truly PG….it felt so sir-real for the first LONG time.
I am sooo happy for you….I hope this helps
WE are all here for you and if you have any other questions please let us all know we will try and help you through the first part and the craziness….its fun, scary, stressful and truly wonderful.
Congrataz again
