Hi Ladies. I'm new to this board and thought I would introduce myself as well as ask your opinion. My name is Angel, I have two daughters; one conceived naturally and one with fertility treatments. I am 39 and we're ttc#3.

Last month was my first time to try Femara. I actually had one lovely big follie and ovulated with an hcg shot, but no BFP. I did 5mg once a day from day 1 to 5. (Nurse told me to start it even though I said it was only day 1 because she said it was just breakthrough bleeding from stopping Progesterone. )

I'm now on my second month of Femara, but this time they had me taking 2.5mg three times a day from days 3 through 7. Today is cd12 and I got a high (not peak though) on my fertility monitor. I also went in for my follie check sono and found that there are none on my left ovary and three on my right, but they are still tiny. Two are 11 and one is 12, way too small to trigger. I'm getting lots of ewcm today though. Any thoughts on what might be going on?

I have to go back on cd18 for my next follie size check and hopefully they will have grown by then!

My name is Shannon. I'm one of the hosts and have a 21 month old daughter. She is not a Femara baby. We found out after 3 years of TTC that Femara wasn't not the answer to my problem - we finally identified the real problem. I had an auto-immune problem and my body was attacking my embies. Anyway, that is beside the point.

From remembering month after month of u/s and monitoring; I would suggest that you BD on your own while you are experiencing this EWCM - just in case. If you go on to your next follie check and they are still hanging in there - hopefully the EWCM will still be around too - just a long cycle of it. If it starts slacking off before that appt, you could always take a TBSP of regular Robitussin each morning and evening to help your body make more (always worked for me - loads of it). That way if the follies haven't released as of cd18 you'll have a nice fertile environment for the swimmers to get to one of more of those eggs when they do pop.

- Aug. 17th 1st beta test 462 ****Miscarried - ectopic pregnancy 9/9/07 Lost right tube.
*3rd Round, Oct. '07 - Follistim & Hcg shot w/IUI-10/28/07 ** ended in chemical pregnancy 11/07
*4th Round, Feb 25th, - Follistim & Hcg shot w/IUI - Cancelled due to many mature follies.

Did your RE tell you continue taking the femara, or did you stop on day 7?

Louise, the RE didn't have me take any more Femara. I took my last pills on day 7. I go back for another sono on Thursday, so fingers crossed that they have grown nice and big!

Welcome!! I hope your sono goes great. I don't really have any advice on the cm, but it sounds like Shannon had some good advice. I hope everything works out for you. Keep us all posted!
