Icon5 New Here

Hi ladies,
I have posted here once or twice, but mostly have lurked a time or two to see if any of my questions could be answered, but I thought I'd finally introduce myself and see if I could join along.

I am 37 and am trying for #2 (since April 07). I have used Femara for 3 months off and on. One month I triggered....BFN. The next time I missed O due to separation from DH. Then took a month off. This month I took Femara and decided to trigger without docs permission. (I know...I'm bad!) So, I'm in the 2ww and have a question for you all.

I am 6dpo and had spotting today. I usually spot before AF so nothing new other than it's quite early. I didn't have implantation spotting with DD so I am wondering.....does Femara/trigger cause spotting for any of you ladies whether early in your LP or just at all?

Thanks so much and I hope to get to know all of you more!

Hey Kristie!

Good luck TTC! I'm also trying for #2 after lots o' infertility before #1. I have only done one cycle of Femara (BFN earlier this week). I DID spot before my AF (not unusual for me either) but it was until cycle day 26. Maybe this means your preggers! If you don't get preggo this month, though, I would def get a Progesterone check next month.

GL!

Thanks Eve! Good luck this next cycle to you as well. Are you going to use Femara again?

I have asked about progesterone and they told me to count that out even though I haven't been tested for it. (don't know why, but I think something about having normal cycles prior to using seeking help)

Also, wanted to clarify (after rereading my post) that DH and I were not "separated" for a month, but yet we were as I was on vacation with my best friend in FL! =)

Hey Krisitie...

It never even crossed my mind that you and your dh were 'officially separated'...I figured he was traveling on business or something. I took Clomid, Metformin and an HCG trigger to get preggo with my ds...so last month was my first experience on Femara. My doc recommended I switch since Clomid mess up CF or whatnot.

Have you tried Femara before?

I didn't have a problem getting pregnant with DD. Honestly, we were using the withdrawal method....go figure! So, this whole process for number 2 has been such a disappointment. This time around is the only time I've used Femara. (well 2 cycles, but the first one was unsuccessful and that was with trigger) This is my second time with Femara and trigger and I'm unsure about this month as well.

Where are you in your cycle?

Hey Laura! So great to hear from you!!!!!!! Yes, I got the absolutely worst headache yesterday after my first dose of Femara. It took 2 Excedrin Migraine along with my prescription Imixtrex to cut it. And then I was completely nauseous all day after that. Yuck. Seem to be doing better today though. What dose of Femara did you take with DD? I'm on 2.5...didn't know what that meant since I took Clomid to conceive ds.

Kristie...I'm on day 7 of my cycle, so about two weeks off from yours. My cycle was only 27 days last month - that seems super short to me! I'm now also on 1,000mg Metformin daily, and will get a trigger shot on O day with at home monitoring. Yay rah.

Hey Larua-Yes, I recognize the cutie pie in your siggy! =) I actually didn't get headaches with Femara, but I had horrible chest pains that kept me up late at night. I even called the doc office at 2am on my first round as I thought I was having a heart attack. When I called my RE he said Femara doesn't cause chest pains, but I have read on several sites it does. I have had headaches this cycle after the trigger. Weird. Also, GOOD LUCK with your IUI. I want one so bad, but DH won't do it...at least not yet. =(

Eve-I hope you catch that egg during O. =) I had a really short cycle when I did a month of Femara and trigger as well. (26 days) I O'd on day 13. This time I didn't until day 18. I guess it changes every month. Who knows. I'm still waiting to see if I get AF or a BFP at this point. As of today...bfn! =( You should come over and join us on Cycle buddies. It's a super active board and I love everyone there. It's so much fun! =)
