I posted this in the other thread but did not think you saw so I though I would repost a new thread.

Any word on the immigration status? Does your mom live up in Canada? I know that is probably a dumb question isn't it?

Shannon,

Thanks for asking.....its has not move at all I am actually starting to get more and more doubtful that it will actually ever happen. It’s so very hard and I am loosing faith....this has been a LONG hard road and truly hope we are coming to the end of it. I just do not know if I have much more left to give to it.

I have come to the conclusion that I simply want an answer, I would love for it to be YES but really any answer would be GREAT as then we can move on and actually start our life together instead of living in a state of flux and unknowing.

Please keep praying for us and keep the positive thoughts coming. I truly feel that they are helping.....I did not think I was going to make it but each day I seem to gain more and more strength again.

My mom in Canadian and we live only 2 blocks from each other.

How is your PG going? Did you ever book your massage? I hope you did, you truly deserve it!!!!

HUGS

Amanda - I'm sorry you are so frustrated. I wish there was something I could do to help. Since DH is a US citizen, it should only take a few months to process your application - DH would be permitted to bring in any legal spouse of his. There is also a special K visa to allow US Citizens to bring in their spouse to the US to await the application processing. I'm not sure if the additional time is because of your prior immigration issue, but you getting a visa should be routine since you married a US citizen! I hope you are dealing with a good attorney . . . I'm so sorry this has been frustrating.

Thanks Tkeys,

One would think that it is simple once married, pregnant and DH having a heath challenge (he had a stroke and is only 25). BUT due to my deportation and the 5 year ban they gave me for entering the us it has been very complicated. If I even try to cross the board currently I will be arrested with out trial and can server up to 25 and receive a $250,000 dollar fine. So unfortunately we are at the mercy of waiting on the system.

The first half has been approved (my I-130), now we are waiting on the second half and for my interview to be scheduled. They are so behind with processing all the application that it can take up to 6 months to get an interview date. Plus I have to fly back east to have the interview. So I am a little anxious, as I will not be able to fly at the end of my PG.

We have been fighting this for 1 and 1/2 years now. We have a great attorney but every government office is back logged so here we sit and wait.

AND for us the frustrating part is that we could jump though all the hoops pay all the crazy amounts of money we have and still in the end they could say "NO, your ban sticks". BUT truly at this point we just want an answer. I am tired of being alone and it is really hard on our relationship being apart so much and having to handle all the stress we have been for the last year and half. We are doing it and truly our relationship is stronger because of it but its just time to be together...enough is enough.

We have even go to the cali senators to see if they can help as it is taking so long but so far we have gotten no where. We just both want to for me to be able to be home and have the baby in Cali. BUT more then anything we just simply want and answer so we can move on.

OHH....I should have read that though...sorry about the mixed up wording.

The other thing....our case is very strong from getting my ban lifted and we have all our ducks in a row now. All the paper work has been filled out right and everything that was required has been submitted....but each step takes time for them to process.

The last package and one of many required payments were sent at the End of August.....our lawyers have asked for them to expedited it due to my pregnancy but they can not do anything more. We have gone down every single road we could and done everything possible at this point. Now we just have to wait and that is what is most frustrating.....the waiting is so very hard and frankly I am tired of it. BUT our family has spent so much money and time on this we need to follow it through at this point.

If it does not work out my hubby will come to Canada but we are all praying I will just be able to go home to Cali.

Amanda,

Sorry that I am just now checking the boards today. I have been painting all day and feeling great about the progress of it.

Sorry that things are in such a stalemate situation, sweetie. I am going to start really praying hard that God will open up those immigration gates and you will get in before time for your precious baby to be born, so your DH and you can enjoy some of this blessed time together.

As for my massage, no I haven't slowed down enough yet to schedule it. I need to before I start pooching out in the tummy. I got a good recommendation of a place to call. Guess I should call them and set something up for the week after Thanksgiving.

Amanda,

I am so sorry you have to go through all this. I had no idea you had all this on your plate. I sure hope you can get a answer soon so you and DH can be at peace and celebrate this whole new chapter in your lifes.

Lurking....

Amanda, I have to say I feel your pain. I'm in a similar situation, but from the other side. I came to Canada with my children in August to join my DH. We're still in the applicatiobn submitting step, but the kids can't go to school, I have no health coverage etc. So....just wanted to let you know that I'm right there with you. Here's to hoping we both get this worked out ASAP!
