Cheryl and I have been discussing adding a Member of the Month (MOTM) to our board and I wanted to get your feedback and a vote to see if you ladies think it would be a good idea.

Each month a member would be selected to be the MOTM and we will have a special graphic created for that person that will include the month that you were honored. The graphic will be made available for the person to add to their siggy if they choose and because it has the specific month in it, you wouldn't have to take it off unless you just got tired of it being there.

We have a couple of ways listed in the poll of how to come up with the MOTM. So please take a minute to vote and feel free to add any comments to this thread as well. The poll will be open for 1 week. We will make the first selection at the end of this month for the person to be honored starting in April. Can't wait to see what you think of the idea.

Are we really gonna to be that board? I post on this board for comrodity and support from women who are experiencing similiar IF problems. The worst thing I can imagine is turning this into a popularity contest. How would you base your nominations...based on success?coping with disapointment? How do you comfort the ones not nominated. A contest would change what the heart of this board, and that is to support eachother.

I appreciate your viewpoint. I hadn't thought of it in a negative way. I was only trying to do something that would be uplifting. There would be no criteria to be nominated at all. Everyone would be nominated just because they are members here. It might be best to just draw a name to honor for the month. That is what the poll was for. I certainly don't want it to be something that would cause hard feelings for anyone. And if most people feel that way, we can scrap the idea altogether. I hope I didn't offend you. It certainly wasn't meant to do that. It has just been something other TTC boards have done and made the members feel good about something since IF is such a downer most of the time. Thanks Haras for your insight. I still hope you will vote on your choice.

I dont mean to be such a downer, but if it is random like you say, then how is meant to make us feel better. It will be us playing the odd's of when our name is drawn. There has to be a better way to keep spirits up.

Shannon/Cheryl: Not to step on anyones toes here, but i think this sounds like fun and i already voted on it! Eventually everyone will get the 'Member of the Month', shouldnt matter in what order we are or who's get to be first.... It's just something new and all in fun! Good idea

In my opinion, I think this would be a fun thing to add to our board. Whether it is a random drawing or someone nominated by the members, I think it would be a great way to honor or recognize some of the great gals we have on here.

I, personally, am not worried about it becoming a popularity contest....or what exactly people will base their nominations on. I think we all know the difference between a post for popularity and a post that is helpful or supportive.

If the choice is to select by member votesl, there wouldn't even be public "nominations" or votes. There would simply be a CLOSED sticky added that says it's time to vote for the Member of the Month. Then you ladies would would either be asked to PM me (if you have that privilege by having 100 posts) or EMAIL me (and my email address would be there as a link). So other than myself, no one would know who recieves how many votes. Once someone is selected, I would remove their name from the list of members to be voted on the next month. It's more all about something to look forward to and feel good about being honored. Or at least that's how I felt about it when I mentioned it to Cheryl. She is a member of the board that I got the idea from. She said it's always something they get excited about over there and those ladies are dealing with IF issues related to Tubal Reversals. Trust me, just because you get your tubes "untied" and things were easy before, doesn't mean they will be after. I am proof of that. Ava is a reversal baby and it took 3+ years to get PG and/or have one that stayed in place. Thanks for your input ladies. Remember you have until March 15 to vote.
