Default lurker

Hello Ladies,

I have been lurking for awhile. It looks like alot of you got your BFP's. CONGRATS!
As you can see in my signature, I have had 3 anovulatory rounds of Clomid so my OB put me on Femara. If you look at my temp. chart the temps are all over the place and not one single indication of ovulation. The OB doesn't monitor me at all so I am completely in the "dark" about what is actually going on in my body. I have seriously been thinking about seeking out a consultation with an RE. I feel like I am getting nowhere. How long did you wait to seek a consultation with someone else or didn't you at all. TIA

Welcome to a lovely bunch of ladies!

I did six rounds of Clomid from my ob/gyn (all unmonitered) which all resulted in bfn.
Then the ob sent me to my RE. They say usually three-six months max of Clomid because it could thin out your lining too much making implantation virtually impossible.
If you are ready to try to something different go for it.
I hope this helps some and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Welcome! I also did not ovulate when I tried Clomid. My RE moved me on to Femara, and it totally made me ovulate. If in doubt whether or not it worked for you, my RE said to me that if you get sore, full feeling bbs around the time you would ovulate, you most likely are ovulating. Hope that helps and you get a BFP soon!

You can read my "history" at my signature I did all my treatments with an OB but he does like a RE does, he monitored all my cycles... But my BFP came when We were taking a break from the treatment If your OB doesn't monitor your cycles I would try to find an OB who does or change to a RE. Good Luck And welcome!!!

Welcome, you will love the ladies in this group. Good luck on your new treatment. I think Femara is GREAT!!!!

If you are questioning seeing an RE I would talk to your doctor and maybe get a referral. I know I was so happy I was able to work with mine. Up in Canada you have to be trying to conceive on your own for over 1 year before they will refer you on…..but once they do its great. My RE was amazing and truly is the reason I am having my little miracle. BUT I was monitored greatly and did not have ANY question as to when I O'ed. (He had to do surgery to cauterize all my endo first though) Then I took Femara on cd 4-8, then went for a scan to see how my body reacted to the med on cd 11, then told to take my trigger shoot on cd 13 and have "mandatory" BD’ing for 2 nights.....everything else was optional....that still makes me giggle. BUT it worked for us and was our magic recipe. I truly hope you find yours. I know working with an RE can be truly great.

GOOD LUCK

Welcome Andrea! You can not find a more supportive group of women than on this board.... Well we did try Clomid 8 yrs ago, unmonitored which was a grave mistake as we had a m/c and it appeared we had caught on the 2nd round, tested too soon and got what i thought was a BFN, and so we continued to take clomid...my OBGYN refered me to my RE back in 2000' but we chose to take a break and we welcomed our 2 little boys (adopted) in 2002 and then sept 06' decided to try for a BFP "alone" with no luck, and so we "finally" went to see my RE Jan of 07' and he has been wonderful, monitors me constantly which i love, it eases my mind so much.... He is very aggressive with my treatment, but also listens to me and hears what i am ready for and what i want...I so recommend anyone to be monitored and if that means going to an RE, then it is worth getting a "referral" and it is very important to make sure the RE is the right one, fits your needs and has good reputation!

Again welcome...and good luck!!!!
