Immigration Update / DH Update

Greetings,

We have not heard anything from the national visa centre BUT my DH has been in touch with one of the Senators offices in Cali (Senator Feinstein). I am sooo scared to get excited but we have finally gotten a glimmer of hope for the first time in almost two years.

The week after my DH had his stroke our attorney had him sign a release for so they could send a help request to both the Californian senators. We had not heard anything from them so he started to call to try and get an update as to where our request was. The first time he called both offices told him that they had received the request and that it is being processed. Then last week when he called he was told that it had been assigned to someone to look after and he was able to leave a voice mail directly for the lady. So this week when he got home from work there was a voice mail from the lady advising him that he would be receiving a letter with the senators dissection on whether or no she was going to help with our case and it would have further instructions, she also request that he phone in ASAP with any update on our case so they would have the most recent data. Yesterday he called and thank them for the update call, let them know that he is now working (as he was only a student when we started the process), that his job is a state job (never know.... that might help a bit), he told them about his stroke and about the baby. We are now hoping and praying they pick our case to help on.

PLEASE send all your positive thoughts, energy, and prayers if you do not mind. We have found out from our attorney that at the point in our case where we are at the ONLY ppl that can help or make things move faster is a Senator or above. WE desperately want to be able to have the baby in Cali and have both of us home safe and sound. There is no guarantee that she will help us but this is the first "almost" positive we have had with regard to my immigration.

DH UPDATE:
He is doing really well. He started back to work this past Monday and it’s a job he loves. The union actually sent him a letter asking if he wanted his old position back as they had basically erased it due to budget reason a year and a half back but have since realized they need more then one person to do the job. He works for an IT department of one of the school districts.

His headaches are much better and we are not sure if its fully the meds or some of the life style changes he has made but at this point neither of us are going to question it...he is so happy to not have them every day. We have noticed a few more challenges that have crept up since his stroke. They are nothing sever but defiantly an annoyance. Its crazy to me that they say there is no permanent damage but truly there has been and things are defiantly different. Very scary but at least it is all stuff we can work with.

On a very very exciting note!!! His parent for our Christmas gift bought him a plane ticket to come see me for Christmas

I am SOOOOOO EXCITED about that. He will only be here 5 days but I will take it

His boss was totally cool with him take the few days around Christmas off too. This has been a LONG hard few months apart….it will be so good to see each other and have some quality time together.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this immigration stuff get worked out.... I just want to go home!!!!!! Please keep your figures and toes crossed for us.

Wow sounds like a lot of almost good news. I am praying everything works in your favor and you and your dh are reunited here in the US soon.

I am SO praying that Feinstein picks up your case. She is awesome. I am totally believing that the "right" thing will happen and you two will be together here in the states for the birth of your baby. Glad your DH is doing better too. Thanks for the updates.

Oh Amanda i do hope the Senator picks up your case.
What aa wonderful Christmas gift your in-laws gave you and your DH...Spend lots of quality time together, oh and take lots of pics!!!
