hair loss/thinning?????
Oh my goodness!!
My husband keeps complaining about the hair on the bathroom floor, and then I stumbled upon this: http://www.candrugstore.com/searchSi...pres=0&schAlt=
One of the s/e of Femara is hair loss or thinning! I know its a cancer drug, but you'd think my doctor would have mentioned it!! Has anyone else experienced that???

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
I know exactly what you are saying, although, I don't know if mine is from the Femara or my lovely PCOS. I have extremely thick hair and if I run my fingers through my hair sometimes I can get about 10 or more strands stuck in between my fingers. If I blowdry my hair at my vanity in the bedroom I have to clean the carpet afterwards I can get a huge ball of hair up by just sweeping my hands across the carpet, its so bad!! Just wanted to let you know your not alone with the hair loss, it sucks

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
I am there too. I have had the loss for a long time and I don't think that it is just the femara. I think mine is mainly from pcos. My hubby doesn't like it much either and thinks I should see a doc about it. But until I start seeing bald spots I am not going, lol. Just know you are not alone.

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
Wow really, it's not just normal then, my DH has been a miffed for 10 yrs now, he has to pluck my shirts before i leave the house, not fun, my doc believes i have some level of PCOS, but not enough evidence to diagnose...I have noticed that my Potent Prenatals have slowed down the loss though, and i now have the joy of lovely long finger nails too, i may stay on Prenatals for the rest of my life

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
That worries me. My RE never suggested I might have PCOS, but do you think that's a possibility?? How do you know for sure?

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
My RE ran blood work, and then on my Follie scans i occasionally have some over activity than "normal" women without PCOS, but mine is not every month, so i have not been diagnosed, i actually had to ask them if i was as i doubt they would have told me, if you had it and they have tested you would know. If you have not been tested, you can always ask them if you need to be.

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
Hmmmmmm. They did blood work, but I don't know if that was included in what they checked for. I haven't had any scans yet either. My next appt is in 4 months, because he wants to see if the Femara on its own can do it, if not, then we go over more options, like IUI etc.

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
So you have no monitoring? No scans, no nothing?

Re: hair loss/thinning?????
This is the only fertility clinic in town and the waiting list for an appointment is 4 months, so unfortunately they just don't have the capability to monitor everyone. If I were to start on something like IUIs or Gonal or IVF, there would be a lot more monitoring, but because I don't seem to have anything "wrong" with me, he wants me to do a few more months on just the Femara. Now that we know dh's sperm is good, we think it was just an ovulation issue.
