Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Finally back...
The re said they did a lot of work on me and if he would've known he would have done the lap surgery a lot sooner. He believes the surgery is really going to up my chances for a BFP. As far as the infection goes he is unsure what caused it and all he knows is that there was a lot of adhesions which he contributes to the infection. As far as how I got this lovely infection or how long I ve had it... Who knows, no way to tell according to him. It def. contributed to IF because infection can kill sperm and the adhesion lead to painful AF's. For the kicker he thinks I may have had some ENDO. but it was so small it was hard for him to tell (the pictures did not even show it~thats how small it was) All he knows is all is clear now and I def. needed the surgery. Back to square one again...
Baseline u/s when AF shows (around 9/20)
Femara 2.5 mgs 2xdaily for five days
Injections~Follistim 75iu for six days cd 3-8
E2 and u/s on cd 12~HOPEFULLY WE CAN TRIGGER (if we are lucky enough to get to that point~NO CYSTS, NO CYSTS*)
The nurse said we could do IUI that was up to us... DUNNO WHAT TO DO?
Any thoughts?
DH sperms is way above average.
Love,
Nessa

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Nessa you have really been through it. I am so glad to hear that your chances will be increased, I know you feel like you are back at square one again, but you will probably be at your best to TTC now, over the next few months, always happens that way after a Lap.
I am can not wait to see you with your BFP on here!!!

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
BTW ~I am all for IUI, My DH also has good swimmers, but i like to know my odds are even better! You could always try yourselves and if not, i would definitely advise IUI the next month. Talk with your DH, together you'll make the right decision. GL!!!!!

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Hi girly!!!
WOW....what a crazy journey. I am so happy you had your Lap done and that everything is looking really good now.
This is very exciting. I know after my surgery I took the more aggressive rout for us. If the meds had not have worked then we would have stepped it up even further. This is just me, but if I had gone through what you have I would with out question take the option to do the UIU!!! Just go with your heart and do what is right for you and your DH!!!! You can never go wrong if you listen to the inner voice.
EEE...I am so excited for you
WINK WINK.....you know I had my Lap, did my round of Femara, had my U/S, took the trigger and BAMB.....got my I just know yours is around the corner. I am sending you lots of positive energy and praying for you.

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Hey Nessa - my DH has great swimmers too. We went back and forth over and over again regarding IUI too. We finally decided that we had come this far and done so much, why wouldn't we go that extra step. I was sad the first month (expecting it to work right out of the gate) that my baby would be conceived in a doctors office without DH even being there, but now, having done it a few times, I am totally over that. I would be thrilled if the IUI resulted in a full term pregnancy and a beautiful baby for us both to love. And no matter where or how it occurs, it is our baby and we both want it more than anything. That is how I decided to go ahead with the IUI. Romantic..... no, miraculous.... ABSOLUTELY~
And yes- the chances are higher if you do the IUI- regardless of the quality of the swimmers (that was a good selling point as well~)
Hope that helps~ GOOD LUCK!!!!! You deserve a BFP!

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
AAAAWWWW...
Thank you so much ladies, you post made me get all teary eyed you guys are the best. I had a heart to heart with dh and we decided to go ahead and do IUI (if we don't have any cysts at baseline u/s, and no more than four mature folliclies). Dh said it didn't really matter to him because we have been through so much already that we might as well do ALL we can to get that positive, even though we really didn't want to go that route at first (remember this was almost four years ago). I feel kinda weird about the IUI... as said previously not being done at home, but get pregger in a doctor office etc... but I am so tired of everything~we are just ready to do what we have to do. We will be spending about a grand total so we said what the heck what is an extra $200 especially if it is going to increase the chances. So HOPEFULLY iui here we come.
Thanks again
LOTS OF LOVE~NESSA

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
I am so excited for you girly!!!! Let us know as things progress!!!! I know it seems like such a cold way to make it happen but in a way it’s the complete opposite. If you think of all you have been through to get here and to get through it all you have needed lots and lots love.....it may not seem idea currently but once you get the it will be more worth it then any words can possible explain and that little bean will feel so much love and know it was wanted and is just that little bit more special because of the journey taken.
GOOD LUCK!!!! I can not wait to hear your updates

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Nessa ~ You have so made the right decision....I totally understand your hesitation about the IUI though. 7 yrs ago i would never have entertained the idea of IUI, now 7 yrs on, I wouldn't have it any other way. DH and i like to know that we have millions of swimmers being in the right location, rather than the average 1 thousand, LOL even though it only takes one, but the more the better, we also discuss the fact that as we still we may actually be concieveing ourselves, the IUI is just the backup Besides you really want the perfect swimmers for that perfect baby! Just as Shannon always says, we're all waiting for our "perfect" baby and i couldn't agree more

Re: Finally~re Post Opt. Tommorrow
Thanks Carrie, Glad to see you are back!! Welcome back hon!
I ve read your post and I am so sorry for all you been going through lately. I will keep you in my prayers. I pray you will get your much deserved BFP real soon! Congrats on quitting smoking WOW that is awesome!
I didn't see any pics of Heidi new house I wanna see!! Did I miss them?
Anywho, welcome back again and I cant wait to chit chat some more real soon!
I spoke to the re's nurse today and she explained to me that it was a previous infection and is gone now and should not come back. All should be clear for about a year. If we start ttc #2 (if I ever get that far~ take that back positive thinking WHEN I get that far) I will proably need lap surgery again because adhesions leave scar tissue which was what was blocking my tubes and covering everything outside of the uterus. As far as higher risk of m/c besides the pcos NO!!! b/c the all adhesions were outside the uterus and as we all know the baby grows in the uterus so YEAH!! On another brighter note my insurance is going to pay 50% of IF!! We just switch insurance companys at work and I spoke to them today so I could not be happier. Of course I have to pay $500 ded. first and 50% so this cycle I will not be saving anything this cycle but just in case it doesn't work out this time next cycle will cost me half!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Nessa
