I was wanting to know if anyone taking Femara had any problems with hostile cervical mucus. I took Clomid my last pregnancy and it worked. I took robitussin with it due to thick cervical mucus . This is my 3rd cycle of Femara and I have been ovulationg but not getting pregnant. I have noticed that every month during ovulation my cervical mucus never gets stretchy like it did with my last pregnancy. i could use some insight.

Actually, at my last RE appointment before my BFP, I asked my doctor about that, joking I wasn't getting pg because my body was 'hostile' and he said that is an old wives tale. I can't say I noticed much difference in cervical mucus, but I don't think that makes a big difference. For some people it just takes longer; for me 12 months. I hope you get your BFP soon!

I have not had very good cm with F either this time around. I guess though that mine has been more watery but really more like nonexistent. I also know that this month my lining was thin too so my doc is changing my protocol. I have gotten pg with F before and had perfect ew and a perfect O on cd14 but this time around things have not gone as smoothly. Soooo I guess everyone can react differently. I did not think though that F was suppose to dry you up like Clomid does.

Second round Femara 5mgs/Follistim 75iu/Novarel-hcg/1000mgs met (4 follicles)-BFN!
Lap surgery August 15, 2007~NO ENDO/CYST Covered in "SCAR TISSUE" from infection? that was removed, HSG tubes cleared out again.
Waiting for post op appt with RE- "CLEAR" and ready to go again~1000 mgs Metformin, 2.5 mgs Femara 2x a day(five days), 75 iu of follistim(six days),Novarel (trigger) w/FOUR mature follicles ~ BFP 10/26!!!! Miscarriage @ Five weeks
Af 12/26-(63 day cycle-Provera induced)-40 mm cyst--Currently on BCP-
Starting Femara/follistim/Metformin 1/22/08-SIX mature follicles-BFP-2/17/08~M/C #2
April 16-HSG-ALL CLEAR! Some scar tissue on left side..but CLEAR!
Diagonsed with autoimmune disease will need Levenox and baby aspirin a day starting on cd 16...

I had the same challenge my first time around with F - but did get a BFP. We did IUI however so if there was an issue of hostile CM we may have bypassed it with the IUI. Perhaps that's an option if you are ovulating but not getting a BFP?

This is going to be my seconed pregnancy. I took clomid the 1 st time and got pregnant no problem. I did have to issue with the cervical mucus and took robitussin and that seemed to fix it. But I had read Femara is not supposed to mess with CM but I am taking robitussin this month just in case. If I do nto get pregnant this month I am going back to Clomid it seems to work great for me. I am being a ginnie pig more or less right now. Thanks for all the insight.
