Default Eating right!

Hi Ladies,

So i have decided to get healthier, i am not going on a diet, but i am going to be more conscious of my eating habits....In the past yr i have gained an incredible amount of weight, i know it has a lot to do with the roller coaster life of IF, and all the hormones, but i can feel myself wanting to really reach for the comfort food....So i am setting myself a goal and it gives me something else to focus on....I will be living by my old WW rules, but without the meetings.....Here's to eating right, thankfully i have been trying for the past several weeks, i'm just going to try a little harder.

Wish me luck!!!

WTG on healthy eating! I have been very pleased with my WW experience. I do mine on the computer, because going to meetings just won't work for me. I can never depend on anyone to watch Ava when I really need someone. If you decide to join online, it's much cheaper than the fees for going to the meetings too. But you may just still have the resources and do it on your own. My MIL has a book that lists the points values and the weights that they correlate to. So if she ever didn't want to do meetings anymore, she could easily keep track of how many points she should be doing by her weight. I don't have that book, since I joined online. But I could always copy hers. Anyway, good luck with it. I gained most of my weight during the IF years too. So I can relate. During my pregnancy I only gained 11 pounds because I was so overweight to begin with. I lost 35 lickety split after she was born and while I was Bfing. But once I returned to work and had to stop BFing, the weight piled back on.

Lou, that sounds like a good idea....and like you said, it will help to have something else to focus on! You definitely can't go wrong by trying to get healthier!

I've been doing WW since February, but I recently got sick of paying the money to step on the scale, so I'm trying to do it on my own too. I know it helps me get my mind off the constant thoughts of TTC. I was getting so obsessed over it from thinking about it ALL the time. I'm pretty sure my DH knew more about my monthly cycles than he ever wanted to know! I was driving him nuts!

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one who gained weight like crazy during IF/while TTC! I get real down about that at times. And even while I was faithfully doing Weight Watchers and working out....I wouldn't lose much. Or I would lose one week and gain it back the next! I think that may be one of the symptoms of PCOS.....hmmm.....maybe I do have PCOS after all.

I have been doing a weekly challenge on the Post Baby Shape-Up board and it has really helped me with motivation, and getting off my duff to regularly get in some exercise. I asked about inviting you ladies to join us and was given the OK. Our focus isn't on baby weight necessarily or on talking about our kids all the time. There are a few other boards that are not called Post Baby, but I checked and really none of them are active at all. This one is very supportive and like I said, offers the weekly challenge to keep you focused on eating right and fitness. Just thought I'd would post about it here so if you wanted to join us and get your focus onto that rather than just TTC / IF it might help. Here is the link to it. I hope to see you over there. We start a new challenge each Monday. When I started I jumped in in the middle of the week just to get used to posting my daily stats. So you can do that too if you'd like.

, Shannon! I just got done looking through the Post Baby Shape-Up board and some of the threads.....and I totally want to join in!

I think it would really help keep me motivated and give me a reason to get my double-wide off the couch! For some reason, being a WW member and going to the weekly meetings wasn't cutting it. I don't know if it's because I was doing it on my own this time (the first time I did WW I was doing it with my mom back in Utah) and that I never really made any friends at the meetings or what. I just really struggled.

But anyway, could you explain to me the basics of the board? Like when I'm supposed to post and what I post about? I'd kinda like to know how it all works before I pop in and say, "Hello! I'm a newbie!". I was thinking I would probably start on Monday.

Thanks for asking them if we could join! Eventhough I'm not trying to shape up post-baby.....I totally need to shape up PRE-baby!

Sure! How about if I send you a PM instead of posting all the ins and outs here? If anyone else decides they are interested I can do the same for anyone that wants the same info. I just don't think I should post details from another board publicly. I'm sure everyone understands.
