Default Crazy, crazy...

Well I didn't get a baseline they said I would have to come in tommorrow morning, but didn't say why??!! so Tommorrow morning at 8:00 I will have my baseline to u/s to check for cysts (PRAYS for NO CYSTS!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!) Check this out~ so I was talking with the nurse about the IUI situation and she said I could do IUI and pay out of pocket $292 and they would not bill insurance. Therefore insurance would have to pay for my meds b/c they wouldn't know I was doing IUI. Hello?!?!?! Thats Insurance FRAUD. So I told her I would think about it and let her know. She said they only way they would know is if they call and asked for the doctor's notes and she said she could NOT take the IUI if they did that (so basically fraud on my part, not theirs!) She said she's worked there for 12 years and that only happened a few times, but also warned me if this does happen they can really mess up for fertility insurance. I couldn't believe this would even be a option, kinda cool but also KINDA ILLEGAL. I think IF clinics will do anything for money as long as its not illegal on there part. WOW how crazy... anyway my gut is telling to just stick with timed bd'ing and if that doesn't work out than pay out of pocket and do IUI the legal way. I respond really well USUALLY to the femara/follistim, from the one round I did in July with four follicles, then we trigger, and DH has no issues, and now the infection is gone so we shouldn't need the IUI. At least that is what I am praying for! A little much for one day uh?

Oh the dilemma to do what affordable or what is right. I did not have to choose, the great state of Alaska does not cove infertility at ALL. Everything is out of pocket. Fortunately for me I had a great doctor who was actually a family practitioner, who delved into IF. The sono's, sperm washing and the IUI it self came to a whooping...$395. What a doctor, so kind not to overcharge, so loving to know how important family is. He has delivered several hundred babies, and many women he helped to conceive.

Nessa- I think you will be fine without IUI. If dh has no issues you should be fine. I am not going to tell you to do something illegal, but I will say that my docs office has a special way of wording the insurance claims that helped me not to have out of pocket costs.

Nessa ~ I am with Jennifer, my RE does the same they code things som that i don't get charged as much for certain things, an RE that does that is actually trying to help you out, they understand what we go through and therefore do what they can to help...But still it seems that the IUI is not something that could be coded differently and would be blatantly obvious...I feel you have everything lining up for you right now, now the only reason i am doing the IUI again this time, even though DH numbers were fab, is because i know it worked for me last time!
Good Luck sweetie!!!

Crazy is the perfect word....I agree with Lou though....They are just trying to help as they understand that is a major financial burden to go through all this.

BUT I am with you....I would just do thing on the up and up....but then I have extremely bad luck and know I would get in trouble if I did it any other way. LOL

I did not do IUI and we had SUCCESS We did the Femara, Scan, Trigger Shot and then did timed BD'ing right after I had a Lap surgery done. It was the right recipe for us and I think you guys have EXCELANT chances that it’s right for you.....GOOD LUCK and keep us posted. I truly hope you get your SOON!!!

Thanks ladies, I agree. My re's sucks, I don't know how to ask to word things any differently with the IUI b/c if insurance company requests doctors notes IUI is IUI. So timed BD'ing here we come!!
