Icon5 Cramping - Getting a bit worried!!!

HI everyone:

I know cramping is normal during early PG but today I am starting to get a bit worried. I am now 5 weeks and during the early hours of this morning I was woken up a few times with some very uncomfortable cramps. They seemed to pass fairly fast and were nothing like AF ones but they were defiantly stronger then the other ones I have been getting.

Now they seemed to be gone most of the day but this evening I am getting them again. As this is my first PG I do not know what to expect....is this normal? Is it just the changing since of my uterus and maybe the placenta growing?

I am just very anxious that it maybe be a bad sign....any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.

THANKS!!!

Amanda - You can get very mild cramping when pregnant. My doctor always says if you have any questions call and talk to someone.
My thoughts are you know you are pregnant so any doubts call and talk to your doctor. I'm sure everything is fine, but it will make you feel better to talk to them I'm sure.

I agree with Karen- you should never hesitate to call- that is what they are getting paid for. I think you need to do whatever you can to ease your mind. The last thing you need right now is added stress. After everything you did to get here, you have every right to cautious.

I am sure you and your baby are going to be just fine, I have a good feeling about you, BUT I see no harm in checking in with your doc for peace of mind.

Take care and keep us posted.

I agree with all the previous posters---call! They know pregnant women worry and maybe they'll have you come in earlier for your u/s.

Let us know how it turns out and how you are feeling.

Definitely call the doc if this is causing you stress. My doc always said, better to come in and find it was nothing than to assume it's nothing and not come in and it turn out to be something they could have helped with if only you had called. that you are paying for a service and that service is for them to do all they can to make sure everything with your baby goes as smoothly as possible. So call them and let them know what's going on.

If for some reason they don't have you come in. Start logging what you were doing just prior to noticing the cramping. You may find that you are doing too much and it may be your body's way of telling you to take it easy. It could very well just be the uterus stretching, especially if you were to have two little beans in there trying to make their own space.

Keep us posted.
