confused & frustrated

Well- today was a very confusing day for me. I had b/w and an u/s this morning and the u/s nurse just kept on counting and counting and I started panicing. In all I have 7 follies that are between 10-13 and "A whole bunch" of smaller ones. I immediately started wondering if that was too many, and before I could say it the nurse said that the Dr. might discuss converting it IVF b/c of the #. UMMM........ NO WAY! Anyway- I decided I would not freak out until they posted my instructions on the patient info line (thanks to Karen). When I called, it said to continue on with the 150 units of follistim today and tomorrow and come back Friday am. Well, I called and the nurse said that it should be fine just as instructed but I kinda started to cry and told her I was panicing and asked if the Dr. could look at my b/w and u/s again. Well- when she called back the 2nd time- she said to decrease to 75 tonight (1/2 of what they said 10 minutes before that) and to decrease to 50 tomorrow. Now- I am panicing again- what if they are only decreasing b/c I was complaining.... AHHHH... Should I have trusted the first set of instructions and not called- am I going to miss out now???? I am a mess. BTW- they were all really nice to me- very very nice, everytime I called.

SOOO.... what do you think- am I crazy to have questioned them?
Sorry for the long post- I am just so darn confused....

I think that if you had questions you made the right decision on asking! If they changed the protocol, they knew what they were doing...

MB - Some women freak out when they see that there are going to be alot of follies at the same size. As I did the first cycle they cancelled because i think I had like four 18mm and two or three 18mm on the other side. I called freaking out and told them I didn't want a litter and they agreed and cancelled it. You didn't feel comfortable with the numbers so its a good thing you called. You have a right to choose what to do. Even though they lowered it they still might cancel your cycle if the same ones keep growing together. They need to start with the right dose. So see on Friday what happens you might only have two or three that are big even to "O". Good luck let us know what happens.

Don't know much at all about injectables, but agree with Karen. You followed your head and God put it there for you to think with. I'm betting all will be ok. Keep us posted.

Mary Beth ~ I am in total agreement with what the ladies have said.
As i was reading your post i was (personally) thinking that they should decrease the dosage...Also keep in mind that not all may take off, i know from my personal injectables experience i have several trying to grow but only 1or 2 take off and flourish, but that is my experience....But again personally i would have (cautiously) wanted a decrease in dosage....You did the right thing by telling them your concerns...just keep the faith that they know what they're doing...I am glad they were very nice with you too, that always helps with everything you are feeling and going through.

I agree with what the other ladies have said. Your follies may not all grow at the same rate and you may end up with two or three dominant ones.

Good luck with the u/s today. Let us know how it goes.
