Default Checking In...

Hi girls! Just wanted to check-in and give you guys an update! We closed on our house on Friday and moved everything in over the weekend. Talk about exhausting! DH kept his eye on me, making sure I wasn't doing too much, but I still did my part of the moving!! Pretty much everything is unpacked; other than my decorations for the house and stuff in the garage that DH needs to find a place to put them.

I haven't been able to check in on the board until now because our internet was disconnected and our new service won't be started until later this week (IF we're lucky). So here I am, at the military base library, using a computer in the computer lab! Now that you know the deal, don't worry if you don't hear from me again for a couple of days!

I'm still super anxious/nervous/worried about my PG, but things seem to be going well. I get really tired around 8 or 9PM and a day or two ago, was falling asleep while I was sitting in 'indian-style' on the floor watching tv! I have been a little crampy off and on, but nothing I'm too worried about since I kinda know what m/c cramping feels like. No morning sickness as of yet, but I do get a little nauseous from time to time. Especially if I get too hot or eat something kinda wild. LOL

I had my first OB appointment yesterday and that went well. Of course, they were convinced that I was 12 weeks along since the first day of the my last period was June 6. No matter how much I tried to convince them that I really didn't think I was that far along, they were so set on that date! So, since they thought I was 12 weeks along, they tried to find the baby's heartbeat with the doppler thing....and found nothing. They then gave me an ultrasound, found the gestational sac, and measured me 5 weeks and 1 day along. They said it was completely normal to just see the gestational sac at 5 weeks, but of course, I worry about EVERYTHING. I also had blood drawn to check my hCG levels and I will be going in again tomorrow for them to draw the second set. So I guess I will have betas to report after all! My next appointment is scheduled on September 17, less than two weeks away, and they'll be doing another u/s to check on things.

While I'm soooo relieved that they're actually doing stuff like this for me during this pregnancy....I am sooooo nervous and worried! I just hope everything is okay. So if ya'll would please PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for me and my bean....I would appreciate it so much!!

But I better go, my DH has been trying to call me on my cell while I've been in here typing away madly. (I can't answer my phone while I'm in the computer lab and he's probably wondering what in the world is taking me so long!) LOL

I'll try to check-in again soon....hopefully our internet will be up and running before we know it! Take care everyone!

So glad to hear the good report on the move and the baby. Glad your doc is having you in frequently, all things considered. I had every 2 week appts for the first half of my pregnancy with Ava, so just enjoy the extra attention. Most people only get to go in once a month. And when my once a month appts started, it drove me crazy waiting till I could go in and hear that little heart beating again. Can't wait to hear about your beta numbers. Thanks for checking in. We were wondering about you.

PS you know I'm praying big time!

Heidi- I am PRAYING my heart out for you! I am thrilled to hear that everything is going so well so far. Just relax and enjoy the ride now. (physically at least- mentally and emotionally will be just about impossible after the stressful journey to get you where you are)!

Checking in again real quick! Our internet still isn't set-up. Something about our house being new construction....so we're waiting for the cable company to hook-up their stuff.

Thanks for everyone's well-wishes! I promise to get all caught up once we get our internet up and running!!

And here's the pregnancy update. I had my second set of blood drawn Thursday for betas and found out then, that despite using the progesterone suppositories, my progesterone level was low. My progesterone was at a 12 and according to my midwife, the normal range for a pregnant woman at this stage is 11-27 (I think). So of course, I started crying....but was quickly reassured that it was still within the normal range, but just low. They wanted to get it about 20. Now I'm on progesterone cream....they think that will absorb better.

My betas are in....at 5w1d my beta number was around 4500 (not quite sure on the exact number)....and two days later, at 5w3d it had increased to 7847. I was disappointed because it didn't exactly double, but the midwife said it wasn't anything to worry about. He told me not to worry and that it was probably due to my low progesterone levels.

AND...he scheduled me for an ultrasound this Wednesday, the 12th. He's bound and determined to find the heartbeat....he said it still might be a little early, so if we don't see it then, I'm coming in for another ultrasound the following Monday. So I'm happy that things are being done and that I'm so important!! I'm still hoping and praying that this one is my miracle!

I've been experiencing a bit of a backache the last day or so....which has me bugged. I worry over everything though! It's not painful or cramp-like....just an ache that goes away once I take the time and lay down to rest. And of course, there's nothing in those pregnancy books about backaches during the FIRST trimester!!! Aaaagh!! I'm worrying my husband half-to-death!

But anyway, take care girls....and I really hope to get my internet up soon....I'm having serious SK withdrawl! I'll try to update as soon as I can!

Your back ache is probably your body's way of telling you to take it easy and rest! You're busy growing another person! Thanks for the update and I look forward to hearing all about the ultrasound!! Enjoy it, they are incredible!

Heidi, I am so happy for. I missed your "I'm pregnant" moment, I just know that you'll make a wonderful mom. My back hurt the first trim too, my OB told me it was due to my muscle's stretching, don't worry until you have too. Right now things are going great, so try to sit back and enjoy. As a very wise woman once told me, you don't know your in hot water until your in it. So until that moment, enjoy your blessings.

Hi Heidi,

I can not wait to hear all about your U/S....I hope that give you some peace of mind. The first trimester is so hard. I know I am worrying over ever little thing my body is doing....I am going crazy.

Glad you are getting all settled in your new home. Its so much work to move...make sure you get lots of rest and take extra good care of your self.

I get to go for my first U/S on Fri. Sat 14th....I am very excited. We are going to find out if its twins or now then I know I have been so very much looking forward to it as I am hoping it will settle my mind and allow me to enjoy the rest of my PG more and maybe take some of the anxiety out or at least down a notch.

Can not wait to read your next update Good luck with all your blood work and appointments.

Your Beta numbers actually look fine, they say an increase of min 60% so your looking good. I am stunned that the progesterone was not working as well, i was on the suppositories, and i don't think they ever checked my levels once i was on it, kinda makes me nervous now. I am so relieved to hear they checked yours and you can use something more effective. Over all everything is sounding great, i do hope you get to hear the HB, like you said though still early, don't stress, easier said than done though, so at least "try" not to stress, you will be needing the energy now
Backache, i believe it comes with the territory, no great help here sorry
KUP!!!

Another update! Just got back from my ob/gyn appointment where I had my second ultrasound!! We finally saw our little bean (at my last ultrasound, we just saw the gestational sac because I was still pretty early) AND we saw the heartbeat! I'm not kidding you, I almost cried! My DH was pretty impressed....I think he's pretty excited.
They drew more blood to check on my progesterone levels, so I will hear about that tomorrow sometime. I sure hope it has gone up! And my next appointment is Thursday, the 20th, where I will be getting ANOTHER ultrasound! Sheesh, I'm glad they're being so attentive, but it makes me kinda nervous that maybe they're worried about the pregnancy if they keep giving me all these ultrasounds. Oh well.

Our internet still isn't hooked-up. Sounds like they will be working on it on Monday, so hopefully I'll be able to check in more often soon! I promise to get all caught up with everything then!

Amanda- I'm so excited for you to have your appointment! I know how excited you must be! Can't wait to hear your update!

And thanks to everyone else who've been rooting me on. I love you all!

Heidi ~ So glad you got to see that little beating away. Don't sweat the extra appts. I had an appt every 2 weeks for the first 5 months with u/s each time; then they switched me to once a month for months 6 & 7 and it was hell. I was spoiled to seeing my baby every two weeks. LOL At month 8 we went back to every 2 weeks so I was happy again. All of this was because I had a wonderful doctor, not because anything was wrong. Be glad you have a doctor that cares and is aware of what you have been going through. You are considered high risk because of the IF; unfortunately a lot of docs don't take that into consideration and aren't as attentive and women have to continue dealing with IF because a doctor wasn't on top of things, like watching prog levels, etc.... So glad to get the updates from you. I know it's not easy with having your computer out at home. Please take it easy every chance you get and rest. Like mommmaphoebs said, you have another little person growing in there and he/she needs your energy to grow. So for that to happen more efficiently you have to stop for a little while each day so all that energy can go to the baby. Our bodies do give us signals, like backaches, for that very reason. sweetie, I'm so happy for you. Told ya that nothing is impossible for God!!!
