Default AHH the SAGA of my life continues!

Hello ladies, I am hoping that you could give me some options regarding...

When I found out I was pg I started looking around at different doctors. There was one thing that I would not compromise on...I wanted a VBAC. The only way reason I would consent to a c-section again is if the babies were breach or if it was medically necessary. I wanted to try to deliver naturally. I told my doctor this at our first meeting, he had informed that he has delivered several sets of twins and some were successful vaginal births, this included VBAC's as well.

Well here I am at 24 weeks, both babies are head down and doing great. My blood pressure is 120/76, that was after a stressful morning, usually it is 120/ 60. Weight gain is good, no signs of pc or gd. Yesterday he informed me that he no longer does VBAC's and that no later than my 37 week he would schedule me for a c-section. Just lovely.

Later that day I called back and informed his assistant that I found another doctor who is willing to do a VBAC, and to please send over my chart. Of course she agreed, I really like my doctor, but I really hate that he knew how I felt and lied to me...it seems he stopped doing VBACS years ago.

Here is why I don't want another c-section. After you have one you can not lift anything heavier then your baby for several weeks. I am a single mother with a four year old and that is not realistic. There are things that I need to do, and I don't have the time to recover form an operation. If I need to have one because one of the babies are in danger, then so be it, but it is NOT my first choice.

So ladies what are your thoughts.

Awww....I am sorry you are having such a struggle with everything. This is my first PG sooo I really do not have a strong opinion as to delivery options as of yet BUT I believe it is EXTREAMLY important to do what is right for you and your body!!! You need to follow your heart and find a doctor who is willing to work with you in all aspects of your birth plan.

I wish you all the best and truly hope you can have a successful VBAC!!!!

I am sorry that your doc lied to you. I would go ahead and look into other docs. Find one that is willing to do the vbac. You need to do what is best for you and what you truely want to do. Good Luck!! I hope you find a good doc!!

Haras - I actually want a C-Section with my next one.
I had a vaginal birth with Corinne and it was horrible. First of all I had an epidural that never worked. They broke my water in the hospital and as soon as they did that the pain was so intense. I asked for an epidural and they gave it to me. But within an hour and half I had Corinne. Maybe thats why it didn't work. They also had to do an episiotomy. So when they where sewing me up they gave me some numbing meds that didn't work. Ouch!
The epiisotomy also got infected. So even by my 6 week check up I still couldn't sit up. It took me all together 9 or 10 weeks to heal. I don't want to go through that again. Everyone is different along with every birth.

Definately go to a doctor that respects your wishes. VBACs are so common, I don't know why he would have a problem with that. It's your birth, therefore your birth plan.
