Turkey Burger Melts
1
Egg white
1/4 cup
Minced green onions (optional)
1/4 cup
Minced parsley (optional)
2 tbsps
Bread or cracker crumbs
2 tbsps
Water
1 tsp
Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp each
Salt, garlic, basil
1 lb.
Ground turkey (or chicken)
1 cup
Grated part skim mozzarella

Hamburger or Kaiser buns
Optional toppings: Tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, fried onions and mushrooms
1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix together the egg white, onions, parsley, bread crumbs, water, mustard, salt, garlic and basil. Mix in the ground turkey. Use hands to mix thoroughly.
2. Shape into 6 patties.
3. Barbecue about 7 minutes per side or fry in a lightly greased non-stick skillet.
4. Top with cheese and cook until the cheese melts.
5. Serve on fresh Kaiser buns or in hamburger pitas stuffed with fresh lettuce and sliced pickles. (Don't forget to count the fats if you add mayonnaise!)
