Default banning?

Hi, I'm not a host, but I need help from one. There is this certain individual who is definately a troll, but the DUE IN MARCH board needs help. Her nickname is "SamisMama" and she lies, and it just a plain nuisance. We come for help, but instead have to deal with all this drama all because of her, I've looked at all her other posts, and her pattern of lying just keeps growing and growing..and it's so completely obvious? Is there any way that a host can ban someone from a particular forum? Our forum is just about perfect and we are all very close and I hate seeing ppl like this ruin it for people who actually use the forums for a GOOD PURPOSE...can anybody help???

*VERY DESPERATE*

Noone but an administrator can ban members of the boards. If you do not wish to view posts by anyone you find to be a nuisance, then you can add them personally to your Ignore list located in the "User CP", where you go to change your signature, etc.

In the list of choices in the User CP, it is the second from the bottom of the list on the left hand side.

Here is what the faq says about the Ignore list:

"Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread."

I am unsure of how well it works. As I have never used it yet. But its an option these boards give you. You could try this out and see if it helps with your issue.

Good luck!

SamisMama
This message is hidden because SamisMama is on your ignore list.

I used her name and visited DIM, and this is what happens, when you add someone to ignore. It will still show her name in the thread and allow you an option to view thread or to remove her from your ignore list if you choose. However, it will not show her post unless you request it to.

Make sure you put her name in fully and correctly. I have to use the ignore feature and I hadn't put the name in correctly so i still viewed posts that I did not want to see. So if you still see the post, check and make sure you put the name correctly into your ignore list
