Mimicking
Does anyone else have a little one out there who is obsessed with mimicking faces and gestures? Jack recently started doing this and it is the cutest thing. I almost died of embarrassment at dinner tonight when the man sitting in a booth coughed and two seconds later Jack pretended to cough. Of course it isn't really funny when he mimics me puking....
Man, I am really loving this age! I don't think there is a day that goes by when I don't laugh at something he does.

Re: Mimicking
I bought DS a his-sized broom specifically for that reason. He LOVES imitation! He loves standing in his learning tower and cooking on his stovetop (pic below cause it's just too dang cute not to share) while I cook... and doing dishes next to me too (plastic ones!), pottying... he likes to take the bladeless razor (DH tried NAIRing his head... whole nother story... with Woman Nair) and shave his legs and mine. He loves brushing his hair and teeth, coughing (or loogie-ing), scolding the dog...
Yeah, he's STRONG into that imitation phase right now! It's so much fun, even though everything takes twice as long

Re: Mimicking
Yes! Piper loves to vaccum and wipe and set the table. She loves emptying the dishwasher. She goes "potty" and "wipes" with a square of paper. Today she learned to make a salad and she was tearing the lettuce. Unfortunately she has also copied words and when I told her to get off the coffee table at my sister's place I lowered my voice and said "Now." She did the exact same this, tone of voice, facial expression and all. I nearly peed myself.

Re: Mimicking
Parker too. When he's in trouble I'm really bad about pointing at him while I'm telling him what he's not supposed to be doing and last night DH was "scolding" me for cursing and Parker turned and pointed at me and said "no no mama". It's to cute. He'll also scold the dog/cat by pointing at them.

Re: Mimicking
Same thing here, too! We had friend over with a little 5 month old and the baby was crying. Abigail started fake crying like the baby. The mother turned and, jokingly, shook her finger saying, "don't mock my baby!" When she turned back Abigail shook her finger and started babbling in the same tone as the mother. It was hilarious.
