Icon5 IUD's?

Don't we have some folks here with IUD's? I am asking because I have been after dh to get a vasectomy for a year now. We had an understanding that he'd do it. Now it seems like he isn't going to . I am sooo paranoid about getting preggers again. I was wondering what the pro's and con's were? Do you like it? Can you tell it is there? Thanks girls!

Don't have one, but if I were in your situation I'd motivate my DH to get it DONE, if he said he would! How? Well... geeeee, DH, I don't want to get PREGNANT, and you know there's a few really good ways to AVOID that... like vasectomies... or abstinence... LOL!!! Once I have my four kids, that's how it's gonna be!

I have the mirena. I love it! I did have bleeding for like a month after getting it inserted, then once that stopped i got a light period for about 5 months then it was every other month and i havent even had a period since August now. Which is fine with me, but some people dont like the idea of no period.

I dont really have anything bad to say about it. I'm 100% happy! And when this needs to come out DH said he would go a head and get the big v, but i dont know, i might just get another iud because i love it so much.

I had the Mirena IUD for about 2 years before we had Clarissa and I really liked it.

Jen we had the same thing here. I know it's easier said than done getting DH to follow through.
I have the mirena too & I am 100% happy with it.

I have the Mirena too. Had it in since Dec after having Bre. I'm not sure if the IUD is messing with me or if I have such a crappy cycle- I have been spotting on and off for two-three weeks each month since my surgery in July. BOTH OB/GYN's I have seen do not want to remove it. I have worse cramps too. But I think I am 1 out of a bunch of people that have bad side effects. I'd remove it now and get on some other sort of BC, but knowing me I'd end up preggers when Jason comes home next month. My next door neighbor has it and absolutely loves it, she's had it for 3 yrs now, no kids, and hasn't had a period for more than a year. Oh and you can't really feel it as long as they cut the strings short enough.

i have the mirena too.

I really like it. AF is very short now...only about 3 days. I got it because of new studies that indicate it helps with ovarian cysts. I have an u/s booked on the 31st to see if the cyst decreased in size.

I have one too - I got it in december 06.. But its not Mirena... hmmmmmmmm.. i'm trying to remember the name now. it seems so long ago it was inserted. I'd have to go look at the paperwork I have on it again. Anyways, it lasts 10 years, and is a copper IUD. I have regular periods every month, and a small spotting a day before the period - almost like a warning that its coming. No complaints here.

I have the Mirena and love it as well. I only spot a little each month now.

I have had the mirena for about 6 weeks now, I think, and stopped spotting. The only trouble I had is when they didn't cut the strings quite short enough at first and they were poking me. Seems to be just fine so far. Haven't had a period yet, because I am still nursing some.

I have the mirena too I've had it since Oct 07' I've had a few problems but doesn't seem as if too many women do. They had some troubles placing it which was is my BIGGEST complaint [I guess 10 min of discomfort was worth not worrying about BC]. I spotted on and off for about 3-4 months after getting it nothing major. My cycles have NEVER been regular until I got this. Cramps are a little more intense though but I still think that I have scar tissue around my c section scar.
