Icon7 Chayse's 18 mo visit

Chayse is 32lbs 6oz and 34"tall he is in the 95th percentile for both height and weight. The Dr said she was a little concerned about the large weight gain from his last visit til' now. Which I honestly don't remember how much he weighed then [I think about 26lbs]. She asked me what his appetite is like and I told her EVERYTHING that he eats and she said she is worried that he is getting all his calaroies from drinking juice and milk [which this is only the 2nd time he's seen this Dr since his left the practice] and wants me to cut him down to 4 8oz bottles/cups in 24 hours! [He still gets a bottle at nap/bed time other then that he drinks from a sippy cup] and only water during the day no more juice. He doesn't drink that much during the day and the last Dr was concerned he may be developing an eating disorder. He used to eat EVERYTHING that was given to him [this pickiness started around 9 months and has cont'd] but she didn't really know about his history with it so I explained. So she is sending him to have blood drawn to test his thyroids. I hope that he won 't have a problem but if he does then I'm happy we'll catch it now

Sorry about him having to get his blood drawn

DS drinks all water all day, and nurses twice a day. We don't give him any juice b/c it gives him diarrhea. There was an article in a magazine I picked up in my ped's office last month that talked about how most people are giving too much milk, lol. I don't know which one it was though, sorry! But I do remember the little take-home sheet I got from our ped's office that said 2-3 cups of milk per day... just can't remember the ounces or anything b/c I'm nursing and didn't pay attention *blush*

I hope the tests come back okay!!

16ozs of milk is the max when using it for calcium purposes and that's if you are not feeing him cheese, yogurt, etc. WOW, he's a big boy, lol. At least he's tall though, that shouldn't be too abnormal since he's tall, I think they'd be more concerned about a 32# 31" child.
