I'm starting the Clomid roller coaster and I've become obsessed. I don't ovulate on my own, well, except the one time in July, which was a one in a million shot I think. I started with Provera and then Clomid on day 5-9. I am currently on day 17...am I not going to ovulate?
ARG!
I have had the u/s and the hormone levels checked and everything else seems fine...
Also, can someone fill me in on all the acronyms? i know some of them, but not most!!
I'm newer to clomid too (2nd round) but usually your dr. will do bloodwork or an ultrasound to get a better idea on whether you ovulated or not. You could try an OPK (ov. predictor kit) but clomid can affect those results too.
To add - not sure when you said you had an US / hormone leves are fine if that was pre-clomid but if progesterone stays low prob. did not OV. If that's the case maybe next time they'll up the dosage ?
My ob/gyn said clomid usually causes longer cycles so you may still OV (i had a very very short cycle the first round - that threw her off a bit since apparently longer is more the norm
my ob hasn't done any u/s yet, with this being my first round of clomid. i had several of them done to rule out other problems. should i be seeing someone else?
Sometimes doctors will do an u/s to monitor egg development, in addition to you using OPKs. But I think it's pretty common for OBs to just have you do self-monitoring.
If you want to see a specialist, like if you want to move beyond clomid or get more monitoring. You would ask for a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist. But many OBs are comfortable working with clomid, so you will probably be able to work with your own doc for a few cycles.
