This is a discussion on What CD are you ovulating? within the Clomid forums, part of the Trying to Conceive - Infertility category; Just curious to know what cycle day eveyrone is Oing on. I am on cd 16 and still no +OPK. ...
This is my first round of clomid (I usually don't ovulate on my own)...so far I am on CD15 and haven't ovulated yet. I did get a + OP on CD13 & CD14. I am waiting for my temp to shift upward to confirm that I have ovulated.
This month I was doing my first round of Clomid too. I took 100mg on days 5-9 and I o'ed on cd14. I generally (without Clomid) ovulate on cd12 so I was a few days later too. I just had my cd21 Progesterone test done yesterday and it was 26.2. I have always ovulated but the RE put me on Clomid to up my chances since I have only one open tube.
I use the cheap opks until they start showing a faint line then I switch to the Clearblue Easy Digitals that show a smiley face when + and I love them! They're easy to read and there is no guessing if it is a real positive. The cheapest that I have seen them are at Target; $29.99 for 7 sticks...that's why I use the cheapies at first then use the expensive one's to comfirm a positive.
I'm currently dpo8. The 2ww is torture! Baby dust to everyone!!!
Well my OPK last night was actually lighter than the days before which kinda made me frustrated but then today my CM has changed to a watery/half egg white consistancy and I am feeling a little crampy. I wonder if I am going to get my +OPK today. I sure hope so. I would think that these symptoms are a little early since I still havnt gotten a positive but I hear that with CLOMID you could have cramps that are worse than normal. I welcome the cramps if it means O is coming. PRAY FOR ME PLEASE!! I take my OPK when I get off work this afternoon.
I too have delayed ovulation with Clomid. Normally it is day 13 and on Clomid it is day 15 that I get the surge. I also have longer cycles, 31-32 rather than the usual 28-29.
Good luck!!

I'm in the same boat right now. Currently at CD 16, negative OPK this morning. My cycles average 31 days, so I expect to O tomorrow. This is my second month on Clomid, but I didn't do too well charting my first month (I kept forgetting to temp before getting out of bed, then I had to leave town last minute for a few days right before I was expecting O and forgot to take my thermometer with me) so I'm not sure what day I O'd on. Plus, my prog. count was lower than normal (mine was 12, doc said normal is 15-18) so there's no saying that I actually did O last month. My doc increased my Clomid from 100mg to 150mg daily this cycle, so hopefully it'll kick things into gear! Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question, but I thought it might help to know that you're not alone. Good luck, hang in there, and keep us posted!
Thanks for your reply. I for sure thought I was going to ovulate yesterday so I rushed home and test but it was negative. Also negative again today. I am on CD 18. I'm trying my best not to worry about it. I found a website that showed all kinds of women who had gotten pregnant and ovulated on day 45 and even some on day 60. I didnt know that was possible. Maybe they got a period in there somewhere and didnt realize it or something but it still made me feel better. Thanks for your encouraging words.
I'm getting frustrated because I'm not quite sure what's going on with me. On Tuesday, my temp was 97.22, Wednesday I forgot to temp before I got out of bed to pee, explaining the jump to 97.69, but then this morning it was 97.67, leading me to believe I've already O'd. Also, I had a lot of EWCM on Tuesday, but I haven't noticed anything since. I've taken an OPK each morning this week around the same time (10 a.m.) and they've all been negative. The only thing I can think of is that the first three days I only waited 5 minutes before checking the results then throwing the stick away, since I was at work and didn't want to sit in the stall forever. Then this morning I waited 5 minutes but then put the stick back in its wrapper and took it back to my desk with me. When I checked again in another 5 minutes or so, the line was signicantly darker (although still not positive). So maybe I didn't wait long enough the other days...? I can't say that I completely trust OPK's, though. I used them in May, got a positive result (with FMU), then had a progesterone test the next week - my level was 2.3 (I guess normal is 15-18) and the doc said that meant I hadn't ovulated. So...I have no idea what to think.
Tammi, is this not the most gruelsome process ever? I mean, why can't I have one of those bodies like my coworker where she has a 28 day cycle and ovulates on exactly day 14. Everything about her has been exactly as they say it should be. But she is also not on Clomid. Me for example...I don't get periods on my own, I don't ovulate on my own, my temps have gone from 97.5 down to 95.9 then up to 96.6 and back down then up again. It is so confusing. So for me I am still going to do BBT but I am not going to look at it anymore as a make or break ovulation. I know now that OPK's are really not that reliable especially if you have PCOS or are using Clomid.
I don't really even like the idea of a progesterone test because if you most doctors look at them under one scale. If its not above a certain amount then you didnt ovulate. If you do the prog on day 21 and it says you didnt ovulate that really only means that you didnt ovulate on day 14 or so. It wont detect ovulation correctly if you ovulated late. Thats what I am frustrated about right now.
Shauna, I know having PCOS can be SOO VERY FRUSTRATING I've found that I do better off charting my BBT because even though I obsess I think I would obsess more not knowing. At least with charting I will know for sure if/when I ovulate. Do you keep your chart in Fertility Friend? If not then can you add your temps and post a link to your chart so we can see? I still don't know if I've ovulated either...I had a HUGE temp spike yesterday but I think I may have just been running a small fever. It came back down today but is still a little higher than the past few days had been. If it continues to go up even slightly then I guess I did ovulate. Just try not to get too discouraged...we are in this together I know exactly how you feel about the up and down charts that seem to go on and on and on!!
Stephany,
Thanks for that!! I do not have my charts online but I will go to Fertility friend right now and sign up. Then when I get home tonight I will add all my info so that you guys can see it. I would really like to see what everyones take is on this.
The strangest thing that is TMI. On day 17 I had what I swear to be EWCM and cramps, never had the +OPK though. Day 18 I had the same cm. Day 19 it was very creamy and today it is sticky?? WTF? I just started monitering my cm though so I may not be that great but I am pretty positive that I used the right definition for everything.
It's so great to have you girls to talk to. You are my saving grace. My husband is so supportive but he just doesnt get it sometimes and I know you guys feel me here. Thanks!!
Yes...post your chart as soon as you can...I want to analyze it. I don't have a home computer but I'll try to use someone else's at some point over the weekend.
Hi ladies! Well, I think today may finally be my O day. I had a big temp drop (97.69 yesterday to 97.11 today), a positive OPK, and lots of EWCM. I'll be watching my temps over the next few days to see if O really happened. If I could figure out how to link you guys to my fertilityfriend site, I'd let you take a look at my chart, but so far I haven't been able to figure it out. If anyone has some tips, I'd be happy to hear them!
I hear ya, Shauna! Wouldn't it be nice to be "normal"? But then, like DH & I were saying last night, all this hard work we're going through to start a family might make us appreciate our child/children even more when they finally get here. In the meantime, try to stay positive! I'll be doing the same.
I am on CD 25 today. I FINALLY got my +OPK on day 23 and another on day 24. The test line is thinner than the control line but is definately the same color. Not darker though. When I get off work I am going to test and possibly the test will be darker today. I hope so!! But either way I really feel that yesterday was O day because I was soooo crampy all day and it was definately NOT all in my head. Now I am in the 2WW. GAHH!
I ovulated both time i took clomid on day 11. Which is earlier than i normally do (normally day 14). I never "feel" like I'm going to ovulate or can feel myself ovulating like some of you have mentioned. i just check with the pee test strips. the first time i took clomid, i used test strips that didn't work, so i thought i didnt ovulate, i just decided to have sex from days 10 to 16 and i got pregnant. day 11 that time i just had a very very very faint line, so later on because i was pregnant i figured it was day 11 i ovulated on. Plus this time i also ovulated again on day 11 but the test strip actually worked. I had a miscarriage though, on the first round, which is why i'm now on round two.
